This team is much better than the 2004 team. The average of the 2004 team was 23, the average age of this team is 27, there's much more experience. The world has gotten better, but not enough in my opinion. Team USA's toughest opponent will probably be Argintinia (defending gold medalists with Manu, Luis Scola, and more) and China (Yao and Yi). Lebron and Kobe will most likely recieve a lot of the blame because of Lebron's guarantee of gold and them being the best players on the team.

I think they will win by a landslide.  Team U.S.A is a lot better than 2004.  This team has been together for a few years and they now have veteran leadership in Kidd and Kobe.  The world has gotten better, but David stern and the NBa made a commitment after the 2004 embarassment.  Toughest opponents are Spain, Argentina, China (home court advantage and Yao and YI)  still not enough to even keep it close.  Biggest blame will go to Lebron for opening his mouth yesterday and guaranting a win.

The 2004 team underestimated the competition. This team won't make that same mistake. The rest of the world has improved in basketball but we are still no. 1 and we are bringing home the gold not bronze this time!
