Take it easy Aidant.  A question has been asked, not an attempt to inpose a view on the residents of the UK.

IMO During the debate for Australia, the best answer came from media broadcaster and journalist Clive James (paraphrase) "Is is not about the power the Queen has or hasn't got, it is about the power she prevents anyone else from getting"  Thus in many ways a constitutional monarchy can prevent tyranny.

I'm not a citizen of the UK,my ancestor's were.However I think the UK should keep the Queen. I have much admiration for her. The Queen is to England as the Declaration of Independence is to the United States.In both cases the each country would fall to mediocrity  without them and what each represents. Long Live The Queen!

yes i think we should get rid of the government i mean the queen is like a robot everything she says and does is prepared by the government they decide everything and if ur from the usa i wudnt complain about our country i mean have u seen hu the usa's president is his accent gets on my nerves so much but then agen so does gordon browns lol

Yes. They bring in 100 million pounds a year.

80% is for the Monarchy.

They are often the only ones that talk sense in the whole Government. King George was staunchly opposed to violence in Ireland, and was all for giving it up if it saved lives.

And, most importantly, they provide us with an unbreakable link to our past and heritage.

If you don't like the Monarchy go and live in France.
