  1. The U.N. is the most useless organization ever established. In my opinion the U.S. shoud withdraw its membership and kick the U.N. out of the country. France would be a good place for them to relocate.

  2. who cares no one listens to them anyway

  3. No, they don't have any balls.

  4. If you could name ONE United Nations success story, maybe I'd be able to help you out.

So far..... nope.   I'm not able to justify their existance.

  5. Yes - as a sounding board for all countries

Yes - as a place to set up standards

No - in terms of ability to enforce decisions

No - in terms of having backbone vs dictators

The UN has been greatly tarnished by its failure with Iraq, and by allowing terror states to be chairs of important committees (human rights, etc.). It's last best hope of being a real source of peace and power was lost when it allowed France and Russia to stop the efforts to turn Iraq around. Of course, it turns out that was because France and Russia were violating the trade sanctions they'd agreed to (as was Germany).

Corruption, fear of exposure, and spinelessness in the face of evil have doomed the UN.

  6. The UN SUCKS...they are worhtless and we should get out. They have never doen any good and can't enfore anything. Sierra Leone is a great example of that!

  7. No, it has done a terrible job and has no real power to do anything ...... they allow terrorist countries to hold seats and head committees for human rights while they brainwash and slaughter thousands of their own people in their own country each year ...... and they have no power to get anything done ...... its more like a tea party then it is a political and world meeting ...... = )

  8. The UN is completely useless.  They can't even organize food drops in Africa without s******g it up.  If it wasn't for our money and military they would have gone the way of the League of Nations years ago.

  9. I didn't know they had a job

  10. No.  The UN is nothing more than a gaggle of inept, corrupt, anti-American leeches looking for each and every opportunity to bleed the US dry.  As a whole, it has accomplished nothing whatsoever, other than utterly bungling and s******g up everything it sticks its corrupt cloven hoof in.

  11. In some situations but to me many of the failures are just to great to forget and take their methods seriously. There are too many countries with too many political and cultural differences

  12. Helped keep the world from destroying itself during the Cold War.  America has always had an isolationist streak but the last time we actually were isolationist and weren't part of the League of Nations, everything went to h**l.  The UN can't replace alliances like NATO (and shouldn't serve the same combat-oriented role) but it is necessary as a forum for diplomatic relations and achieving consensus of world issues.

  13. Your question is unclear. Are you talking about the UN Security Council, which is the only UN body that can pass binding agreements? Do you mean the UN General Assembly, which is a discussion forum and which passes *non*binding agreements? Do you mean the individual and largely autonomous UN agencies, such as UNESCO, UNDP, UNIFEM, UNHCR, WFP, WHO, UNICEF, etc.? Do you mean the UN Peace Keepers, which are made up of individual and independent troops from various governments?

If you can't be more specific, then opinions are meaningless, as they are just gut reactions to the words "United Nations" rather than thoughtful discourse or criticism of the actual institutions that make up such.
