  1. Brian Cashman has expressed his faith in Pavano.  He says that he feels that Carl Pavano can be a nice fit for New York.  If he continues to pitch like he is now, I believe that the Yanks will re-sign him, but with clauses to address his injury proneness.

  2. nope. but if they keep him he should play for free cuz all the years he was injured.

    go yankees.

  3. who cares they suck nd blow so do the phillies mets rulw no1 cares that they r knockin down yankee stadium evry cares bout shea stadium

  4. no he is injury prone

  5. Nope.  Pavano havent proven anything with his stay with the Yanks.  I think they will go another direction and go after CC Sabathia or Ben Sheets.

  6. I THINK THEY HAVE AN OPTION FOR ANOTHER YEAR FOR 13MIL.WHY NOT? IMAGINE HIM RE-JOINING BECKET WITH BOSTON.ANOTHER SLAP IN THE FACE TO CASHMAN WHO SHOULD BE PUT ON WAIVERS WITH GIAMBI.

  7. God, I hope not.

Look, I'm happy Pavano's managed to get two wins after coming back. But he's been an abject disaster for the Yankees. If they do insist on bringing him back, they'd better make sure he comes back for MUCH less than what he's already made. He's stolen money from the Yankees all these years.

  8. Minor league deal at most. There going to sign AJ Burnett, CC will go to the dodgers

  9. hahaha no....

  10. No, I think they will use that cap space to sign a top free agent(s) so they can get there team back on track and ready to make it back to the world series.

  11. No frigging way. They have him on waivers now.

Pavano is likely to be eligible for free agency after this season, since it's hard to conceive the Yankees deciding to exercise his $13 million option rather than paying a $1.95 million buyout. The last time he hit the market, he was coming off a stellar season for Florida in which he went 18-8 with a 3.00 ERA.

  12. of course not

  13. pavano has been not only injury prone but wildly ineffective

prior to his only solid season, pavano was a journeyman that was not considered anything near a quality starting pitcher

the fact that the yankees signed him to such a large contract after a single clear fluke of a season, shows that yankee methodology (buy your way to championship) is failing and parity in baseball is growing and creating better copetition

  14. LOL... God I hope so

  15. At this point, no i don't see it happening. Pavano was injured for over a year with the Yankees and the team has already expressed publicly that they are trying to get younger at all the key positions, including the rotation. If he finishes the 08 season with a couple of strong starts, maybe a short term deal, but with no where near the amount of money he got with the original deal.

  16. I sure hope so. Best pitcher they got. How about 8 years 80 million?
