  1. I saw Tiger Woods in person at a PGA tournament in Doral, Florida. He's 6'2", 190 lbs of lean muscle. If he punched the average man in the face he could probably knock him out. I don't think we'll be seeing him in any celebrity boxing matches soon. I know that Jose Canseco and Hershel Walker are competing in some kind of former athlete boxing program.

  2. I saw some tourneys where the announcers said woods can bench press over 300lbs, that puts him in the top 25 % of the world in upper body strength. so yes he is tough. but I can bench over 300lbs too and Im very tough so I would beat woods in a street fight sorry.

  3. Physically tough?  He's very athletic and very talented, and he has to produce or he doesn't get paid (that's one thing I like about pro golf).  But anything you can play while wearing a watch is a game and not a sport.

Now if he's secretly training Muay Thai and Krav Maga, then I'll believe he's dangerous.

  4. If he was he wouldn't be playing golf.

  5. Tiger got finished playing what, like 91 holes of golf with a busted up knee!!! Sure you could say that golf is for pansies, but every stroke with just a bit of power, torques the knee, the very same he had surgery. 91 holes that lasted all weekend and all of Monday. So yes, that is a tough man!!

On top of all that this man has dedication, the time he puts into his craft and all the not fun work he does, dedication is the product of mental toughness.

So yes, that is a tough man!!

  6. I'm curious to see responses, too. First of all, he is in excellent shape. He's in better shape than probably 90% of the fan boys on this forum, and that is who will probably jump up and down saying he isn't tough--not true martial artists and competitive combat athletes, but couch potatoes who think THEY are tough because they watch television.

That being said, I think the media is making way too much about him playing with the bum knee. It did look like it hurt like a mutha, but toughing out something like that is routine for fighters or football players. So maybe he is tough, but no tougher than Curt Schilling or any number of anonymous NFL lineman (in fact, I doubt he's as tough as any of them). He is a great athlete, and very mentally tough. Nobody should deny that. I imagine he could have been competitive in whatever sport his dad had driven him into as a toddler.

But golf is still boring--like Mark Twain said, it's a great way to ruin a perfectly nice walk.
