No, his history of coming off of a long leave of absence does not lend to winning majors.

Although, it's hard to bet against him, in most cases, a tough bet is Tiger vs. the field, you'll get action on both sides.

I am not betting against him, but with the operation and the layoff, the going will be tougher. Hopefully, he has had enough practice prior to the Open to give it his best shot. I do predict that he will win another major this year and he has the US Open, the British OPEN, and the PGA to bring that one home.

I'll give him a 1 in 4 chance at least.  I just dont know.  I wouldnt be surprised if he struggled and missed the cut.  I wouldnt be surpised if he won the tourney easily. I cant wait to find out.

I really do think Tiger can win this event, he's played the course so much, has won there so much and every time he comes back from any type of lay off he's always been on the leader board.  That being said however, here are my picks...

Winner - Phil "Lefty"...knows the course well, has won the Buick multiple times.  Loves being paired with Tiger the first two days and will have plenty of family on hand.

Dark Horse - Pat Perez...a little bit of a temper but can get the job done if he starts well.  Grew up playing and working at Torrey, knows the course well and has played long enough on tour battle if it comes to that.

Top Amateur - Rickie Fowler...a southern California product who has amazing talent and will do amazing once he turns pro.  Rickie was the youngest to win the Hogan Award in College, given to the top College player...is the only Oklahoma State golfer to win that honor as a Freshman!

First of all he has played a full 18 whole in like forever. He just came back from surgery. And when his drives get bad he usually pulls out his 3 wood or 3 iron. And to get the same distance as his drive he does a shot called the stinger. In the stinger he puts all his weight on that knee and then explodes forward. So he has to really rely on his swing.
