  1. They may as well, they seem to let everybody else in. If I were Prime Minister, I would pull Great Britain out of the EU and leave them to it.

  2. Not whilst Turkish people feel the need to flee Turkey to seek asylum in other countries

  3. No - as i will just allow more people to have rights in the UK, i don't mind people coming here, but they shouldn't be entiltled to benefits and council properties.

we don't treat the commonwealth that well. The EU is a thorn in our side

  4. If the EU accept Turkey to join EU, then Turks will have lots of representatives in the EU Parliament. That means Turks will make decisions according to their countries' benefits. Moreover, there is a great need of labor power in Europe, and Turkey has great potential to provide this lack. Generally people say there is a Kurdish problem in Turkey, but the thing is there is no Kurdish problem in Turkey there is a PKK terrorism. Not all Kurdish people are against Turkey but all of the PKK members are against Turkey. This is TERRORISM!! If Turkey join EU, then EU must deal with PKK problem and also if Turkey joins EU, the lack of labor power in EU will be provided by most of the Kurdish people in Turkey. I cannot say if Turkey should be allowed to join the EU or not, but the reality is EU needs Turkey but not powerful Turkey, weak Turkey. EU needs Turkey also for Middle East, Oil. If Turkey becomes strong and have a word in Middle East then Turkey will not need EU, but if Turkey is not so strong then EU should accept Turkey and i am sure that Turkey would add lots of things than Greece, Bulgaria, Romania or some small states in Europe to EU.

  5. Well, Turkey is a fabulous country but only Istanbul and the extreme west of the country are actually in Europe. Of course the French do not want them in the EU which is a pretty good reason for supporting their entry.

  6. No. The Turkish government treats the countries they disagree with horribly.

They refuse to acknowledge that the Cypriots are part of the EU and yet they refuse to let Cypriot ships land in Turkey. Not to mention the way they invaded Cyprus. And the Greeks were the first to support Turkey getting into the EU and this is how they repay them?

    They snubbed The Pope.

Anytime the Danish (posted cartoons)/Holland (who is that dead filmmaker who was gunned down by a muslim in 2004 for making a film about muslim women and their rights) etc people disagree with them they go rampage.

With so many Turkish people still fleeing Turkey one has to wonder at what would happen if the borders were opened up. Would there be anyone left in Turkey?

I believe that because of Rule 300 (or is it 301) they're at odds with Britian because Britian recently knighted a Turk who wrote a book (in the 80's) about "life in Turkey".

  7. Yes. It will contribute to the EU with a different perspective, adding a richer dimension to their vision. It will strengthen the role the EU plays in the trend toward globalization, as a counterbalance to US hegemony.

  8. Oh goody goody - does this mean more homeless immigrants coming to sponge of Britain, as if we don't have enough.

  9. Turkey does not meet the unofficial requirement to join EU, that is majority of the citizens must be christians.

  10. No,  they have nothing to offer the EU,  but if they would like to swap us ( England ) for Turkey, i'm happy with that.

Again another country that will take more than they offer.

  11. No- not stable enough and still after the Kurds!

  12. Logically, Yes, Turkey should be allowed but practically it will never happen.  It may happen after Ukraine and Russia would be in.

  13. No because Turkey was always known as the sick man of Europe - their relations with Cyprus and Greece are not too good - they are not a full democracy and the Muslim Fundamentalists can take over any time and Turkey should decide once and for all whether thay are in Asia or in Europe

This question should be asked of Cypriots - they would be the best judges having half their country occupied by Turkey or ask Greeks the next door neighbours

The judgement should not be from people in UK or France a sizeable distance away from Turkey

  14. I'm of two minds.

No; they discriminate against the Kurdish minority & their human rights record is poor.

Yes; otherwise they will begin to lean further towards the Middle East & its better to have them inside the tent p*ssing out, than outside the tent p*ssing in.
