  1. I don't think the country will join the EU.  They want to and there are some parts of the country that could be considered European in every way.  I think the laws and structures are trying to be more in-line with the EU and they work with many EU countries and groups.  But there are large parts of the country that do not share the same ideas as Istanbul and the government in Ankara.  I've been traveling around Turkey, and I just don't see the rest of the countries at that point. It needs more developement and a different midset.  This area is closer to the Middle East.  They are not European and they are not Middle Eastern.  I think the new Med. Union is a good solution, even though they said it would not be a replacement for the EU.

  2. gEEEK BOo0BsiE What thou do in this section such strive?

dot worry accepted you are hot for sure.

  3. negotiations is like a tango which will never end.keeping Turkiye close it s a must for the EU.just as it s a must not letting in.

We should cut negotiations today.and fire all ambassadors of EU and US.No diplomatic relations.only buy and sell fruit and stuff.

and some of you can blame me for the thumbs down

  4. I'll give you my honest opinion, I do not care a whit. I can assure you that a Turk walking down the street will genuinely give you the same opinion. I think this issue interests people like you because you think it's a hot subject for us. Your view makes the situation laughable because it really is very far from the truth. From your perspective, you think Turks are dying to enter EU, that ordinary Turkish people debate the matter for hours but, believe me, I live in this country and EU isn't the most popular subject, especially nowadays. You occasionally see it on Turkish news but that's about it. It is the people that counts for me, not the politicians.

  5. I think the EU is for European countries only.

  6. We are not interested, thanks.

  8. hi,

i don't want to join EU because

*) EU dreams are finished for us.

French and German people don’t want Turkish Citizens to be in EU. That’s the truth.

*)Result of EU: We lost 200 billion dollars because of Customs Tax Treaty. We sold our national banks, factories, telecom company. Now we sell our land.We must stop this.

*)I DON’T SUPPOSE THE REAL Problem for EU is islam. They cheat their people. The real problem is population and money sharing. It is 7 billion EURO paid to us so far. They must pay ,approx.40 billion EURO(for reducing the villager population and entegration of industry and commercial).DO THEY HAVE THIS MONEY?

*)If you research the economical and technological development capitalism and the western country must work hard(especially mortgage and customer credits bubble). This crisis is deeper than 1929 crisis and western economists(e.g 90 year old teenager SAMUELSON) can not solve this.

as a result ,these are more effective :

*)We must take part in Shangai Union as soon as possible.India, Pakistan, Ä°ran are one step closer than us.THE SUN is rising from EAST again.

*) Türkiye,Azerbaycan,İran,Syria and FREE Irak should establish a confederation.

  10. I personally dont think and thumb me down for this if you want to, (i am only being honest) that Turkey fits Europe either: culturally, geographically or mentally.. Turkey is much more Middle Eastern than European, even the Aegean coast which is considered more "Mediterranean" cant be compared to Mediterranean countries like Greece, Italy, Spain, Cyprus, Malta, Portugal.etc.

  11. I have travelled to Turkey and i have travelled to other countries in Europe and the Middle East (i am half Middle Eastern myself) and i think that Turkish culture and way of life is far more similar to the Middle East than Europe. And i am not saying that cuz of religion as my dad is Muslim, but i am talking about culture, mentality, development, way of life..etc... Turkey has far more affinities with countries such as Lebanon, Syria..etc. than Europe.

  12. No..In order to accede to the EU, Turkey must first successfully complete negotiations with the European Commission on each of the 35 chapters of the EU's acquis chapters. So far, only ONE chapter has been completed (closed), 7 have been opened and the rest are not even opened, and many have been frozen for later times.

And even if Turkey does complete all the 35 acquis chapters, EU membership is uncertain, as the EU officials have already made it clear than nothing is certain and membership is not warranted. Plus, even if this happens, ALL 27 out of 27 EU countries MUST agree for Turkey being accepted. And so far, public opinion in EU countries generally opposes Turkish membership. As you can see, its a very hard case.
