Do you think UFC will ever become a fight to the finish(death)?

It used to be only boxing, then cage fighting with small gloves on. Now it's pretty much anything goes almost. Do you think there are many athletes out there willing to put their life on the line...literally for a championship? Will gladiator fighting make a comeback withing the next hundred years?

I think that the best part of UFC is that it's not fake.  That being said I am sure it's possible for a fighter to sustain injuries that could lead to death, however there are rules implemented that should prevent that from happening, such as once it is determined that you are not able to defend yourself the fight is over.

It was less regulated in the early 90's. No gloves, and virtually no rules.

Now UFC is regulated by the government and has many rules such as no kicks or knees to the head a downed opponent, no groin shots, no strikes to the back of the opponent, no small joint manipulation, etc.

I'm not sure what you mean. UFC is chasing after regulation. It has never been onlhy boxikg. The UFC was originally put on to showcase different fighting styles in a no-hold-barred contest. The UFC was then bought by the Furttita ( most likely misspelled) brothers and President Dana White. They chased after regulation putting in place a multitude of rules and voilations. The UFC is pulling away from danger and has aired on the side of caution for quite some time now. Nobody is going to die for the belt because no ref or cornerman for that matter will let him.

you are incredibly wrong. it was not only boxing. it used to be almost anything goes. then they almost went out of business and became practically completely illegal. then they went under new ownership and became highly regulated like a real sport. now they are thriving. so you have it completely backwards and have shown your ignorance. congratulations!

No way!  Especially now the the UFC is more mainstream and gaining popularity, there will be extra precautions in place to protest the fighters.
