Question:

Do you think US should be given the next open spot to host the Olympics?

Apart from some issues on the Iraq War which killed quite a number of children and civilians, lying about WMDs, human right abuse in Guantanamo Bay, secret foreign prisons, water boarding torture, faking of intel documents, unpopular foreign policies, I think overall US has done the world a lot of good. Unlike China, the U.S has done a lot to help their homeless citizens and Katrina victims. Racial equality in the U.S., especially for the Blacks and Native Americans, is unparalleled. I think they should deserve to host the Olympics again. What do you think?

  1. Don't you think the negatives you mentioned outweigh the positives?

In any case, one country can't host the Olympics too often, and the US had the Olympics in 1996 and 2002. So, wait for another 10 years, at least.

I do sense irony in your question. Good. My answer is still relevant.

  2. That is all just opinion. In the perspective of United Nations, that was the right thing to do. Politics do not = olympics. Great example is Beijing Olymipics and the Tibet issue. In reality, people will not put this issue in regard if U.S are to host the next olympics, yet funny how people are making a big fuzz over China and Tibet conflict. It is nothing compared to what U.S did to mideast.

But again, politics shouldn't be conflicting with Olympics, so yes, U.S should host the next Olympics regardless.

  3. no

  4. Of course not! There are many cities capable of hosting the Games, and it wont be fair to other countries. I like the way you put this. LOL..

  5. I don't think so.  Why is the US so special? There are so many countries in the world.  The US already has everything... why take the olympics (which are supposed to be international) away too?

  6. From your points of view...no.

China has done MORE than US. Giving Sichuan victims $8 million dollars not to mention $50,000 from Bolt and $250,000 from the NBA Players. China has given them tents and houses unlike US give them crappy trailers and stuff them in one stinky stadium. Not to mention...US military threatened Blacks to get out or they shoot them.

Blacks of Detroit is one of the most poorest state in the United States. They are homeless and they leave inside the highways. The govt is not helping them. They lack education and skill to live.

Native Americans has been almost destroyed by the US ala Trails of Tears and the only thing US GOVT is helping them economically is GAMBLING.

US will get to host Olympics in the future but there's no way from your reasoning that US deserves the bid.

[[Plus, there is excellent, professional, and unbiased live coverage of the Olympics in the US from NBC.]]

Now you say this...the whole question is a joke. CBC is 100x better than NBC in broadcasting LIVE games.

  7. nah

  8. No.

  9. You have no clue what you are talking about!  The US has so many problems at home that they have not taken care of.

  10. No, but not for the reasons you just said. We just had the Olympics here, we had Salt Lake City not too long ago, Atlanta, Los Angeles, were pretty recent. Plus the Winter Olympics are going to be in Vancouver, which where I live is like a 2 hour boat ride away. So it will basically bring a lot of the same economical benefits as having the Olympics here.

  11. I don't think they should.

When was the last time Olympics were held in South America?

    How about Lichtenstein?

They could be held in Egypt. They could race around the Sphinx?

Winter Olympics in Antarctica, with all profits going to feed the penguins.

Of course Olympics will come to the US soon because we need to prove that we are better than anyone else.

  12. I think you are way too negative.

  13. I want to see the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro!

    Go Rio!!!

  14. No, I think we need more foreign places to host the games like Madrid, Paris or New Dehli. The US is to basic and it will feel like we have seen them before! :)

  15. NBC coverage is NOT unbias.

I'd like to see it in Chicago since I live pretty near there, but it's nice to have it in some countries that have never held it.

  16. What the heck? Thats not a real question.

  17. And I think you're a j******f. There's no need to come and insult AMERICANS because of our effed up leaders. Leave us alone, I sure as h**l didn't elect any of them into office, I voted for the guys that would have done GOOD. And thanks but, not everyone discriminates against people here. And you're one to talk about discrimination, aren't you discriminationg against us?
