  1. When you consider that it's not uncommon for people to be 'set up' and caught carrying drugs unknowingly then the death sentence is pretty over the top.

  2. NO all drug users and sellers should be exterminated along with murderers and rapist...oh and phaedo's

  3. No.It's called a deterrent and still it doesn't work!

  4. We want people who come here to abide by our laws, so we should abide by their laws.  And this is not naming a teddy bear, this is trafficing heroin, a scourge of society.  Why the British government would even step in on his behalf is appaulling.  However, letting him rot in a vietnamees prison is probably worse than firing squad.

  5. Think he should have got the firing squad. He knew the chance he was taking so let him pay the price. He has no concern for the lives he will mess up. Before he gets out of prison he will wish he had got the death sentence. Just wish the Vietnamese had a tougher law pertaining to theft.

  6. Harsh yes, but it certainly makes a strong point out of drug use and it's not like people carrying the drugs don't realise the consequences.

If you go to a country that has a death penalty for certain drug misdemeanours then you don't associate yourself with drugs!

  7. No - he should have been shot.

My heart bleeds for him I dont think.

  8. drugs may be fun when you're out clubbing but the reality is that people are destroyed by addictions, their families are devastated and the effects and impacts are enormous.

If more countries took this stand re illegal activities then the world would be a very different place.

so, no. not too harsh. and big respect to them for upholding the law they set - it's hardly secret is it. you make a choice.

if you go down to the woods today and don't play by the rules....

  9. The Vietnamese are sending out a clear and powerful message.  "You do drugs in Vietnam and get captured, you die.  Don't do drugs in Vietnam."

Dead simple and yes, I'm opposed to the death penalty here in UK.

What other countries decide to do is their business.  So long as it's quite clear I'll be hanged drawn and quarterd if I get drunk in downtown ...wherever...I don't really give a d**n, because I have no plans to ever go there anyway.

  10. Sounds O.K. to me if you don't like the punishment don't do the crime. Strange how some people cant see how simple that is.

  11. Harsh they may be but it would clean up some of the **** off our streets and make the UK a safer place.

  12. I am 100% against the death penalty. No one should be put to death.has for the prison sentence he decided to smuggle drugs knowing the harsh penalties that he would face if caught.

  13. Its probably not a good idea to smuggle drugs into a country that has the death penalty ................ just saying.

  14. Well its curbing the drug trade, so no its fine. As for this Vietnamese born British citizen, well he should have lost all rights when found guilty. what makes this person deserving of the British embassy intervening in this matter. However the jail system will probably make him wish to be shot.

  15. No I completely agree with it

If we had tough sentences like that in the UK people would think twice before getting involved in drug crimes

Plus they knew the laws of that country yet still took the chance trying to smuggle the drugs

they were lucky not be to put before the firing squad

  16. Perhaps we should have the same kind of laws here.

Taking and supplying drugs is illegal and is the cause of

other crimes, too. The chain reaction is long, usually ending in death of the user anyway.

  17. Harsh? yes, but he certainly won't be dealing drugs after his sentence is carried out. Does it make a difference that he was born in Vietnam? h**l YES!!! he should have known better. That piece of c**p gary glitter escaped the death penalty because he convinced a Viet court that having s*x with children is common in the west. Kill the drug dealers and kill the pedophiles. The world won't miss them.
