Almost all the body tests are based on the center of balance and body control and not much on say endurance or other aerobics. Do you think that Wii fit is more into balance then actual aerobic exersises?

  1. Both

  2. its a gimmick so ur parents will buy it

  3. I think it seems to focus around balance in the tests, especailly your wii fit age but the exercises seem to have a nice variety to with only one section truly based on balance

  4. I think Wii Fit is centered on total body health. That includes daily exercise, as well as maintaining a healthy center of balance and posture. That is just the Eastern holistic mentality, where they concentrate on more than just losing weight.

I personally like Wii Fit, and have enjoyed success with it. I have lost over 20 pounds with it since launch in May.

However, I do agree with you that the game spends too much time on posture and balance. I think the reason I enjoyed Wii Fit, and had success through it, was because it combined exercising and video games. By putting some video gaming aspects into exercising, it motivates me to play it daily.

But I think that I would have seen even better results from a more cardio-driven exergame. Thats why I am looking forward to future releases in exergaming, which will go away from the Eastern holistic view on exercise and concentrate on a cardio-heavy Western form of exercise.

What Im saying is that I love the Wii Fit, and Nintendo did a great job with it, and I am happy to say its made my quality of life better since its release. However, like most things, there is room for improvement, and if another exergame was to take what Wii Fit started and focus more on burning calories, it would be a solid game.

  5. its balance and posture all the way. they tried to incorporate strength but it doesn't work.

  6. It's about balance, and posture, so that you learn to stand with less stress on your body.
