  1. No, it's not sexist, because women's equality is still lacking greatly in many parts of the world, and it is such as huge part of our history as women.  Men don't really need an equality day because they have never had to strive to achieve it.

  2. We could call it Gender Equality Day to pacify people, but I don't really think it would be necessary. Men's struggle for full legal equality has only just begun.

  3. I believe it stems from low self esteem.

When a gender, race, or culture has low self-esteem most often it's not how "others" view this group but how the group internalizes how they view themselves.  So, a "women's equlity day" is saying that women believe (as a majority, not all, but majority) that they need more love, and are asking for this special treatment.

  4. I'd hope my s*x wouldn't go for something so needless and asinine sounding.

  5. I think it's ridiculous. If I got offended by every silly thing feminism or women in general support, I wouldn't have time left in the day to sit here and answer questions with you dear.

^ haha, how is Thomas Jefferson's or MLK's birthday geared towards men?

-*Why not have a "Women's Equal Responsibility and Work day" if you really wanna celebrate a special occasion.

  6. For years and years every day was male equality day.  It took years for women to decide they would no longer remain second class citizens.  I think it is funny that women could suffer through history and fight an extremely hard fight to get the rights that only some women have in certain parts of the world for men to scream oh but look at us now.  Yet here women run to the aid with oh its so not fair for them.  Get over it I am still confused to what is not fair?

  7. I don't think it is.

  8. Not really, but a Man's Equality Day wouldn't be allowed by people, so I guess we should think it is.  All men haven't had equality, people.  Anybody with an ounce of history knowledge can tell you that.  Also, I suppose it'll be like most racial holidays and men who want to celebrate it will be discouraged from doing so, which says it's not really about equality at all.  Having said that, if it's not like that, forget what I just typed.

If men didn't need to strive to acheive equality, why did so many of them do it?  It seems kind of pointless if you already have it if you ask me.  Oh wait, poor men, men with no property, black men, Native American men, Asian men...they didn't always have equal rights.  Silly me!  How could I have ever thought all men always had equal right-or still do yet?

  9. Yes, it is sexist because it widens the gender gap even more. We're trying to close that gap, and by devoting a day strictly to WOMEN ONLY, it's only aggravating it.

I also believe Black History month is stupid, too, so don't start arguing with me about that.

  10. It'd be better if it was Human Equality day, since it's not only women who haven't been treated equally. Why not celebrate equality for all who have been mistreated?

EDIT: Or Gender Equality day. That also makes more sense.

  11. 1.  No!

    2. There was man's equality - that's why this was/is important.

  12. No because most things are geared towards men.

    You have: Father's Day, George Washington's B'day, Columbus Day, MLK Jr's B'day, Robert E Lee's B'day, Jefferson Davis's Bday, and Thomas Jefferson's Bday.

I think a day for women other than Mother's Day is magnificent!

  13. Exactly because there isn't Man's Equality Day, since their equality is not being questioned when comparing to women, that it's definitely sexist.

  14. No, don't be ridiculous. Women haven't always had equality, and Women's Equality Day celebrates the date that women got the vote.

    Is Black History Month racist?

Racists generally think so, so I guess a sexist would think that WED is sexist.
