  1. There is no offer to take -

    From the WSJ 5/10/08 -

Microsoft Corp. released potential proxy board members from their agreements to serve in the event it made a hostile bid for Yahoo Inc., following the software giant's decision last weekend to end its effort to buy the Internet company.

Members of the proxy board received a short email from Microsoft's law firm Sullivan & Cromwell Thursday morning, five days after Microsoft announced it was dropping its unsolicited bid for Yahoo after an unsuccessful three-month courtship. Neither a Microsoft nor Yahoo spokesman could be reached for comment.

The move is a clear sign that Microsoft isn't planning a sudden reversal of its decision and comes amid speculation that Microsoft and Yahoo sides will restart talks as several large shareholders have expressed their disappointment that a deal wasn't reached.

  2. I think google is best; personally.

  3. Very interesting, I think with the poor outcome of vista to the genral public microsoft is still a very key player but  letting other market players catch up.

Yahoo are strong in the game  and maybe it was a key move by them to ask for more. I don't think microsoft will give in easy to higer demands, I dont think the deal will go through personally speaking.

  4. I think that yahoo should take the deal..I agree with iccahn...yahoo is stagnant and can gain from merging with MSFT.

  5. Why should they bow to Microsoft? They are showing some serious turnaround.

  6. they should def take the deal...
