  1. Football player

  2. The football player. Basketball players practice flinching from every elbow and faking fouls. Football players hit each other to get into the game.

  3. Strength is not necessarily a factor.

The short guy can win if he gets in close. That and if he knows more techniques and does them properly. The tall guy will have an advantage in distance, but the short guy has an advantage in close range. Since the tall guy is bigger, he needs more space and a little more time to execute his moves than the shorter guy.

  4. its not about size...its about skill in the ring...someone could walk in there and only weigh 115lbs....if he's quick on his feet and can land more punches...he can win too.

Why are you competeing in MMA anyway...its that just for rednecks?

  5. i think you're just showing off and being a real d!ck

  6. Real Good Question Actually.

I Do Boxing myself, so i know from experience.

The basketball player has height and the football player has weight. I'm going to go with the football player for strength but he has to be quick with his jabs and hooks, you know how quick bb players are.

  7. Yes.  The answer is yes.

There are several factors that determine who might prevail in a boxing match.

"Reach"  (arm length) for instance, is an important asset in boxing.  It gives an advantage of being able to punch without being punched, in some cases.  The basketball player might have a reach advantage.  But this is not enough.

Stamina, is also important, which allows constant Jabs to keep your opponent "away" from you.  Both probably have good stamina, with the basketball player likely having more, due to constant running up and down the court.

BUT,   ABILITY, and Training as a Boxer would have a tremenduous infleuance in the outcome.  If either person has been trained to box, that person (given this scenario) would likely win the match.

    So,

In order of importance, (assuming nearly equal sized competators)

1.ABILITY (amount of actual boxing experience)

    2.STAMINA (gotta go 3 minutes a round)

    3. REACH (gotta keep your opponent away from you)

FINALLY, one can NEVER rule out.. Pure Desire To Win.  This is called 'HEART'.  All other thing being equal, the one with the most "heart" would likely win the match.

  8. it all depends on whos the best boxer, i mean i use my jab a lot because im 6ft 4 and it helps having the lnoger arms, also it will depend on who has the quicker hands and who is gonna get the first punch to his knockout point, honestly it could go either way but ill back the taller kid

  9. The one with the best technique and strategy regardless of size or sport!

  10. Size doesn't always matter.  Probably the larger kid, but no guarantee.

  11. the 5'7'' football player is my pick. I play football and basketball, and what ive realized during basketball season is that most players that only play basketball are much less aggressive than football players.

  12. It honestly depends. I cannot really tell from this information.  The football player is shorter but heavier so if he is fat he will lose. If he is muscular he will probably win. I would have to see them to tell.  If I had to guess, I would put my money on the football player.

  13. Whichever one that can actually box or is tougher.  Sounds like the 165 lb boy is maybe stronger but the taller kid would have the reach advantage.

  14. Generally, I'd say the one who is a more skilled boxer, who can take more hits, and luck.  The taller kid generally has a longer reach, which puts the shorter at a disadvantage, but the extra weight, assuming it's muscle, of the shorter may compensate for that.  Ultimately, it will come down to skill and endurance.  Either one could have a glass jaw.  Either one could be a skilled fighter.  Either one could get lucky.

  15. it depends on who is quicker and stronger.

  16. probably the tall guy..

the shorty has to punch upwards (that doesnt work too well)

the tall dude gets to punch downwards..

do that math lol ... .... when this match is finished... email me with the dude that won

  17. id say yeah height isnt that big of a threat i mean im a short guy im 5'6'' and im 140 lbs or so but i think i could beat someone taller sometimes being shorter is an advatage in many ways

    thanks

  18. The one who is quicker and with a stronger hit will win.

  19. Whoever is meaner

  20. depends if either can actually throw a punch.

  21. I think it would depend on who has more strength.
