  1. I doubt it. Its logistically not feesable money wise

  2. Back in 1972, Winston Cup did indeed think about having someone build a track in the Seattle area as to claim the 4 corners of the lower 48 states. After a 2 year study the "Officials" could not agree on a week in which to run a race. Why? Because the ones doing the survey (none of which lived in the area) agreed that because of rainy days a race couldn't be done on the same dates year-in and year-out. I found an article in vintage racing on the web. Even though Winston West series has successfully raced for years in your area. But on a bright note...look at the National race on rain tires last month. A big hit and fun to watch. So, never say never...there is always hope.

  3. Not as of right now. Last yr ( i think) NASCAR sent Richard Petty and some other heavy hitters up to Olympia WA to ask to build a race track in the city of Bremerton, WA. The state law makers said no, the people who follow NASCAR don't belong here!!! End of story.

THe funny thing about that statement, I lived in Central Washington State for many yrs. And there are ALOT of people who follow NASCAR and other racing. The law makers, were wearing cultural blind folds when making that statement.

Can some one tell me WHAT a typical NASCAR fan looks like??? We are from all over. some of us have teeth, and some don't. so on and so on.

There has been some talk during the silly season of bringing a road race to Portland Org. They have a nice 2 mile road course there. I knew many peopl who would race smaller stock cars there, on the track as well as the course. THAT would be something I would like to see NASCAR do.

  4. Nascar will build a track wherever there is money to be made.

  5. Since we have windshelid wipers and wet tires it,s possible...There are still a few fairly new tracks that doesn,t have the big boys there yet...Nashville for one...

  6. a few years ago there were for possible cities in which NASCAR would like to build a track and seattle... and greg biffle really wants one there

  7. That would be nice if there was one there..though i am in the fl keys-i think it would be nice for those states to have a nascar track. i think there is a track in wa called evergreen speedway but i think they just do camping world there http://localracing.nascar.com/schedule/8

i think D waltrip wanted to built his own track in wa one but that idea got shot down

i think they are trying to petition the wa state legislature for a track to be built but i do not know what is happening with that.

over all I think it would be a good idea.

  8. To paraphrase Napoleon Dynamite... that'd be frickin' sweet!

Although, right now, the schedules for Nationwide and Cup are already bloated.  It would be cool for the Biff to have a major track to call his home track, though!

  9. We can only hope. The weather near Seattle is probably a problem, but head east just an hour or so over the mountains and you've got yourself a fine atmosphere for racing. And I would go in a heartbeat. Love the Pacific Northwest!

  10. Anything is possible

  11. Well you've got Cali and Vegas that are pretty close but that would be cool for them to build a speedway there.

  12. Not until all the whining tree-huggers and spotted owl caretakers leave!

But seriously, it's not about 'where there's money, NASCAR will build.'  They had a spot picked out by the Bremerton Airport.  They issue was mostly about who was going to fund the track (they were asking alot from the taxpayers).

They should really look into building one on the east side of the mountains.
