  1. I went to (non-religious) private school K-4, public school from 5th grade on.  Private school was a bit more structured, but the students were more one-dimensional.  My parents took me out after the 4th grade because the administartion was bigoted (not against me - against someone else who wanted to work there).

Some friends of ours took their son OUT of private school and enrolled him in a public school around 8th grade.  He had some genetic medical issues and was hospitalized, which caused him to miss several weeks of classes.  There was no one in the private school that could tutor him to help him keep up, but the public school was able to do that.

  2. yes becuse there might not be as much teachers so they can give you 1 on1 help and there will be less bad words.

  3. If you are allowed to still make a choice, I'd say it is private school.

Private schools tend to be more organized, curriculum-oriented, more disciplinarian, less crowded, and most of all very protective. After all parents pay for their children's education and therefore they are more vigilant of their and their children's rights. The administration cannot do less than protect their clients. Therefore, teachers and other staff are mindful of their duties. Any perceived oversight or misdemeanor on their side can mean ouster from their job. And so teachers are expected to do their best or find another job.

If you grew up studying in a private school and you have no choice but to follow your parents, then make the most of your stay in a public school. There may be a lot of adjustments, but with the right choice of friends, you will survive.

  4. Yes in a private school you get better grades because they are more strict and more organized. My little brother went there last year in grade 8 and he did very well overall.

  5. I have been to both and I prefer private schools.  They tend to less crowded.

Public school can be frightening at first.  Try going to the school before the first day and finding all your classes.  That will make it easier for you on the first day.  Also, If you have a friend that goes there, set up a place to meet before school starts so you can have someone with you.  Best of luck!

  6. In private school you have smaller class size maybe stricter or not. It depends. But in public school you will have a lot more friends, but the same time, instructors might not seems t be paying so much attention you. don't get it wrong. It's because there's so many students in one class, so it seems like that but that isn't saying that the instructors don't care about students individual needs, it's only in a different way.

  7. Yup, it all depends.  My grandson goes to a fabulous public elementary school, but all the parents have concerns about the middle school that the kids will go to.  The middle school serves all different economic areas and not all the kids benefited from a strong family support system or solid elementary school.  This middle school has a gifted and talented program.  So, make the best of your new situation and see if this new school has a gifted and talented program and see what it takes to get into it.  There should be a web site for the public school system as well as the school itself.  Ask your parents to get involved in the PTA or volunteering.

  8. Humm it depends are you in a big city because if you are prepare for bring it on style school but i have only spent a year at a public school and iwas tiny so i can't really answer that question

  9. Public school are different from private school in the sense that number of students are more. Since you have been to a private school, you might find it a bit difficult to adjust. Public schools are crowded, less disciplined and offer generalized programs. Attention given to an individuals student by teacher is less. However, if academic reputation of the public school you join is good, then you need not worry. It's not bad either. To know more, please browse:

  10. Same thing happened to me. I went to a private school most of my life till my school shut down due to financial issues. It depends what kind of private school you went to. I was in a Catholic school, so the differences between them were huge. All my life I had a religion class and knew the same people.  So going into public school was a real adjustment.

The only major difference is that there is just a lot more people and even more disrespectful people.  Learn who to associate your self with, and who not too, you don't want to follow the wrong type of crowd.  Teachers in public schools are also a bit more detached from the students than in private schools. I was always somewhat of a teachers pet in school, so having that detachment was really strange lol. Not that they are not approachable, but it seemed they were a bit more terrifying. Hope this helps!

  11. private school is alot better. because then you wont get made fun of.

  12. It depends where you live. If the public school is in a small town, they will give you a great education.

If its in a ghetto, you'll probably be killed in a drive-by!

  13. Depends on the private school and depends on the public school.

    Good luck  =)

  14. Neither, there are pros and cons of both!  But as it is already chosen for ya, i would say that if i went to a school i would rather go to a public school, people are not driven by money as much (not meaning to offend anyone, i know some awesome people who go to private schools).  I don't really know much about either, except my Dad went to private school, it did him no good really.  Was just a school aye.  Don't be worried you'll be fine

  15. Kids will be kids wherever they are.I was talking to my cousin about all the potheads in my public high school, and he told me that they have druggies too only they're rich enough for cocaine.

Private schools tend to sell a name and an experience.  It really depends on the school and what a persons criteria is for determining what is "better". They both have their benefits and weaknesses.

No one can really tell you what to expect because every school is different and everyone has a different perspective. Your education will be whatever you make it wherever you go. You can go to a private school and learn nothing if you don't care about your education, or you can go to a public school and soak up information like a sponge because you care.
