Do you think a VFL club could beat Melbourne at the moment?

They look so p**s-weak I just can't imagine them winning a game this year in the AFL. How do you think they would go in a weaker comp?

  1. At the start of every year in Adelaide, they have Norwood vs Adelaide in a preseason trial game, it's a no contest, the same as if Melbourne were to play a VFL team, unless it was my Sandringham, then we would beat Melbourne.

    There is too big a difference between AFL clubs & the likes of VFL, SAFL & WAFL teams.

  8. The would dominate in the VFL, just like any other club playing in the AFL. There is a major difference between these national teams and state teams in VFL, WAFL etc. It's not the team, it's the coach. I think Bailey is a great coach, but he is changing the whole style of footy Melbourne have used under previous coaches, and its not working yet. Melbourne, like Richmond, are a work in progress.The amount of clangers by the club today against the Kangaroos was amazing, one after another. Skilled players too. This will improve as the club improves their new style of get the ball and run. Maybe not this year, but in the years to come, watch out for Melbourne.

    i understand what you are saying, they are very bad, we arn''t much better, i don't think the tiges will win another till round 9, that's 50/50 game against the bombers.

    I don't believe any VFL side would beat Melbourne. I don't think a combined VFL side would beat Melbourne.

    There is a big rise in class between the two leagues.

    P.S. Now if you'd asked me about Carlton, I may have answered different!
