Do you think a girl is dumb when she says she doesn't know how to put a tampon in?

i heard a girl- a friend of mines say, she didn't know how to put a tampon in and she didn't know what hole it went in- i looked at her like she was crazy- i mean she's 20 and she doesn't know- and then she said she was going to ask her mom- does anyone else think this is nuts- and yes she was super serious about it- because she asked me to show her and i was like that's kind of bold and declined- i pulled up some images online of how to insert a tampon- but shouldn't a girl know- i mean she's 20- and she's not the first who didn't know how to use a tampon i knew a 19 year old with the same issue and a 14 year old too- and why were we discussing this- cuz one of them had their time of the month!

She is not dumb!

I mean she just isn't ready.

And you cannot practice when you aren't on your period because of the tender shock syndrome.

But I don't think you should be so rude about it to females that aren't as prepared as you are.

And a fourteen year old I could understand a bit because she is just going through puberity and she (hopefully) hasn't even had a p***s up her v****a yet so let alone a tampon isn't so wonderful for a fourteen year old either...

Um... well, she should know what hole to put it in, unless she doesn't have her period... =S

Well, it's not stupid to not know how to put one in if you've never been told.  THe first time I used a tampon, I did it wrong cause nobody taught me.  I put it in and left the applicator in.. and then I tried to play basketball... ouch.  I learned pretty fast.

But really, she should know where it goes... =/

Well, if she's never used tampons before, its completely fine. I didn't know how to put one in until I successfully did it. Who cares what age, people don't know how until they successfully do it.

Its not weird, unusual but not nuts. If she's never used one before how is she to honestly know how to use it? There not the easiest things to use first time for anybody of any age.

I don't think its dumb. Just a little weird these days. Most girls learn at a young age. But some girls lead sheltered lives so its understandable. Some girls parents don't let them wear tampons. If they don't have access they cant really learn how.

believe it or not..some moms prefer their daughters dont use tampons until they loose their virginity..so no it isnt a stupid question if you are afraid and you dont want to ask your mom...so she turned to someone she thought she could depend on and trust..

No shes not dumb, alot of girls don't know how to put one in.

I'm pretty sure she used to wearing  pads all the time.

Respond to your friend that Tampon/Tampax boxes provide very clear instructions about insertion.  Leave the rest in her court.
