to me a kiss goodbye is a kiss goodbye but a hug is much more personal

Yes, because you embrace a person w/ your whole body (or @ least are supposed to), a kiss can be brief. A hug can last forever.

Hugs require the whole body to be used where as kisses only require the lips...yes hugs are more personal and meaningful....you can feel comfort in another person's arms.

It can, like if a friend helps you in a time of need and you give them one of those "thanks for being there for me, I appreciate the **** out of you" hugs and stuff like that.

That's a tough one.  I mean yeah a kiss goodbye is a kiss goodbye, but a "hi honey I'm home from my long business trip"-kiss or an "I'm sorry" kiss are gonna mean a WHOOOOOLE lot more.

But then again, when I hold and hug my baby, it's with all my heart and soul.....I can hug him forever..........until he sees something he wants to play with and squirms his way outta my arms.  :o\
