Do you think a minor in religous studies would go with an anthropology major?

  1. no religion has no place in anthropology. it 's used to justify certain thought s and perceptions of the past which will change the ideas of the now and future. which religion are you studying? take the self test which came first dinosaurs or man which is the oldest  ,dinosaurs or man ,big bang theory or god created earth .? see what i mean.


  2. I would say, from personal experience that they are great together. I actually have a religion minor with a BA in anthropology and honors in archeology. Of course you have to deal with half your teachers claiming that God is a cultural construct and the other half saying that there is, if not a God, at least a lot that we can learn from the theological principles that have been used to explain Him/Her/IT/THEY throughout history. Plus, religion, or at least in so much as a groups "views on the cosmos," is a large part of what makes a culture unique. I think you should definitely do it.

  4. Yes, very much so especially if going into cultural anthropology.  Religious rituals are a major part of cultures world wide and have been for centuries.
