Question:

Do you think a "sin" tax should be placed on fast food?

Happening in New Jersey, they want to add a "sin tax" to fast food places.

I think it is not up to the government to decide how much fast food people need to eat. It is a legal substance and they can eat as much as they want.

Government needs to stop taxing everything and get out of our lives.

  1. i think it would hurt low income families the most. why not increase the tax on liquor, cigs and other luxuries instead?

Would you vote for my niece Eileen Friedman (2nd from the left) online? Every vote for her bring us one step closer to a cure for MS.

  2. I live in NJ and heard about that.  It's stupid.

People are going to eat garbage whether or not there is a tax.  So, if they want to stay fat- let them stay fat.

But as for the rest of us who sometimes just have a craving for fast food- it isn't fair!

I mean, common, don't try and tell me that Corzine himself doesn't indulge in Wendy's once in a while!!

    I agree with you 100%!

  3. Another way to tax people, next they will want to tax us every time we flush the toilet.

The Elitists fail to understand that all people have equal rights in this country.  That any lawful occupation,

whether it is a "White", or "Blue" collar job, does not elevate the rights of the individual person over another individual person's rights.  Only the importance of the job in its nature to the impact on others deviates in its importance.  In this country, all law abiding and honest working people should be respected, treated, and protected equally under the eyes of the law, not taxed to h**l and back.

  4. I agree with the government.

Marijuana is illegal for vague reasons yet we are able to eat ourselves into an epidemic?

I do not see why the restriction of personal freedom applies to one and not the other.

I feel the tax should go to our health care system, much like other sin taxes go to rehabilitation.

  5. Maybe if the government was paying for the health care they could tax the c**p

  6. Oh right... and while they're at it, place a tax on spoons which are the culprit for bringing that sinful food from the plate to the mouth!

  7. I think that it should be people's own choice to eat what they want to, it's not like you are hurting other people if you eat fast food; but i do think more should be expected of the fast-food restaurants themselves, they should offer food that doesn't have side effects that kill people

but that doesn't mean it's the governments job to tax fast food

  8. There should never be at any time a tax on any product ever consumed by anybody.

  9. We deserve everything that politicians give us.   when government started to really interfer with our lives by putting warning labels on cigerettes and nothing was done to stop them they kept going one step farther and we let them.   so why should anyone be excited about another form of control over our lives?    we have no one to blame but ourselves because we keep electing these dolts time  after time.   liberalism is based on controling people from the cradle to the grave so until the people have enough of these taxes and restrictions on our lives we just have to live with them.

  10. Eating is not a sin.  Gluttony is. There should not be a tax on fast food.  People in New Jersey are already overtaxed.
