  1. It can be really scary to try to get out of an abusive relationship. Spectators aern't seeing it the way the woman does. So, no, she is not pathetic, for all you know, she may have a plan, on the other hand. If she just stays, isn't scared to leave, and no plan, then my question would be if she has kids. Id say never stay for the sake of the kids, especially in an abusive situation, but maybe hes threatening her. You have to consider all of these possibilities.

  2. It's not that they are pathetic, if you are a friend you will be there to support her whenever she needs help, abusive relationships are very complex and stressful and by saying negative things to the victim only makes it worse.

  3. no it wouldnt change my opinion of her at all. she could have stayed in the relationship for many reasons - couldnt survive on her own (not enough financial support), was scared to leave because she feared for her life, didnt know where else to go etc etc the reasons go on and on. or she just believed that this man who is mentally ill and has personal problems could change. if you are the woman who was in an abusive relationship, im very sorry, i too have been in an abusive relationship. always remember YOU did nothing wrong and YOU deserve the best. the guy who abused you obviously has some emotional baggage that he was taking out on you! good luck~~

  4. I don't know why women stay in abusive relationships. Personally I could not do it. I think low self esteem has a lot to do with it. If you love self I mean really love self, why would you allow someone to abuse you verbally or physically? Some women might think that they can't do any better. I will never understand what makes women stay in abusive relationships. Maybe she's afraid of him. Maybe he's told her that nobody else would have her. I don't have the answer.I wish I did. talk to her.
