Question:

Do you think abortion is a Christian failure?

By having abortion as an issue it only shows that we as Christians have failed miserably and we need to rely on some other power (other than God) to convince our own community not to sin. Abortion, for most, is the final stop on the train of sin going from lust, lies, idolatry, and ending on murder.; Making abortion illegal wont stop the train. There is a lot we should be doing to stop the causes of the problem instead of just addressing it. Abortion represents the failure of the church leaders, parents, lovers, and the congregation as a whole.

  1. Absolutly not. In fact, I'd rather see abortion stay legal than seeing tons of women doing a at home abortion. Doing everything they possibly can to kill their child, in the process killing themselves. I'd rather not see a women go to an alley and get a coat hanger abortion. I'd rather not see tons of babies being dumped in dumpsters. At least this gives someone a choice, rather than going to the gruesome extreme that will be left if abortion is illegal.

  2. I don't think you lay the blame on one source...there is still the factor of personal responsibility to take into account.

Having said that, though, I do agree that we need to make more of an effort to reach out to those who are hurting and have an unwanted pregnancy, and do what we can to support them both during and after. It's all well and good to talk about the issues, and how wrong it is...it's quite another to go into the trenches and be a positive influence to those who are hurting and feel the need to end a pregnancy.

    Love them both!!

  3. A nation's votes are a reflection of the nation's morals and ethics.

The Bush/Cheney White House represents the total failure of the Christian church leaders, public and private schools, businesses, and any neighbors who included the disillusioned people who voted for such a corrupt travesty.

Consider how much better the world would be in Marjorie Cheney had believed in abortion in 1942.

  4. Whatever are you talking about? God is the only one to have defeated death (sin). Why would you even consider relying on something other than God for help in defeating sin?

Anyone who is really serious about defeating sin KNOWS we have to rely on God.

  5. Abortion is the failure of those that abort and support abortion...not those that oppose it

  6. laptop jesus, what do you do about the regimes in africa the will not allow aid to the people who need it, or if aid is given to the poor, it is taken away by guerrilla warriors?  Got any suggestions concerning what to do about that?  Let's see, we could go to War?  No, that's not the answer either.  You know so much, you tell us what to do then.

I agree, it is a failure on the part of the parents that there is so much premarital s*x, and teen pregnancy.  It is also a failure on the church's part, and on society's part.  Society just keeps pushing the s*x though, so what do you do about that?  Look at commercials, tv shows, movies, books, our society is saturated with s*x.  Granted there are parents out there who don't give a rats hind end whether their kids have good morals or not, and then there are the kids who no matter what you try to teach them, they won't listen and will do whatever the heck they want.  If society as a whole would cooperate with parents and churches maybe just maybe we could solve the problem.  I don't know how many times I've seen people on here encouraging others to have premarital s*x, and it makes me wonder what in the heck are they thinking in encouraging someone to put themselves on the line for a moment of pleasure of the skin?

  7. NO! We already know that there are limitations because everyone has a free will. Although, poverty, famine, disease, hate et al. will always be with us, we will not surrender. We will keep trying to help others. Imagine how much worse the world would be without all of the love, resources, and labor that Christians give.

  8. I think children starving in Africa is a far bigger Christian failure.  And how often do you hear about that on here?  Oh, that's right.  Never.  Does it have to do with them being alive already?  Or being black?  The world may never know...

  9. No.  Abortion is a failure to use proper contraceptive practices or is a result of rape.

  10. The abortion issue is a 'christian' failure because 'christians' are so hypocritical when it comes to killing other people. They want the death penalty for everything past jaywalking, and they jump up and down with glee when our military bomb and shell innocent people in other countries based on lies and rah-rah presidents. If 'christians' were really pro-life, I would join them in there protests. But they are nothing but hypocrites.

  11. i only think its a failure when people do it because they can not handle the responsibility. when medical issues step in, then its different.

it's not just a christian failure..its a HUMAN failure. we all have failed.
