  1. It greatly depends on the advertisements themselves.

Some are good, like society ads, which aim at serving and helping people, and some are bad, like those who promote drinking or s*x for example.

Also, you have to bare in mind the audience of those ads, and how they see the ad (their personal prospective)

  2. We are flooded with 'paid for ads' by sponsers that promote thier products and push them on the general population. some are good, some are bad, in theory it is an open market but as for a definite good vs bad, that answer comes down to the person. Personally, I can't stand advertisements. They annoy the heck out of me and honestly, with the itnernet the way it is, any info on any subject is a few clicks away. I do feel we are Main-Lined into what big companies want us to see and we subconsiously retain those glimpses and small previews of things that hang out in our brain... I shut the tv off and read, I look up topics of interest and get outside.

  3. it depends on the ad and how they show it. for eg.

there's this ad for a health drink for kids - horlicks. its good for health. the ads are so attracting that all kids here want to drink only horlicks! so this ad has done good to these kids.

but there's another add where a small boy hardly 6 yrs who goes to a wending machine and tries twice to buy pepsi. but he cant reach the pepsi button. can only reach the coke button. so he tries again. this time he places both the coke cans he got and stands on them and then reaches for pepsi. this gives a negetive impact...

  4. I work on air in radio.. advertisers do me good and keep me paid.. well they say they pay me, but i barely make rent so I'm wondering.

Commercials are so cheesy and stupid that anyone can look past what the are trying to sell you bc they are telling you what you want to hear, but sometimes you hear something that you heard 439 times and you are like, "yeah, ill try that, why not?" and it works out.

    so yep. that my reasoning.

If you are smart, you see past the bs
