  1. that maybe a problem if it were me i would go with a 5'11.

    but ya never know =]

  2. I think that sounds about right... You want to get the board a few inches taller than you to give you ample moving room and what not... anyways this website gives you and idea of what board size you should get based on your weight.

  3. I think it'll work. I have one and i love it. and im your same height. So i think that you should try it.

  4. its perfectt !! just think about a few years down the road if your still young, but have fun surfing

  5. You didnt mention how long you had been surfing... But yes, those lengths are perfectly good although al merrick shop is about 20 minutes from my house, I dont like his boards. You sure you want one from him? Go on your local craigslist.org and see if anyone is selling something in your prefference and then go take a look at them.

  6. Yeah, but I suggest 5'11 if you're under 18 years old.

  7. where r u surfing?

how long have u been surfing?

have you ever tried shortboarding or have u just been longboarding?

i'm 8 inches taller than you and weight the same but i longboard. it sounds like you are a bigger kid (no offense meant at all, just trying to help) and it might be harder for you to get up on a shortboard if you haven't before. if you have, then go for it and it sounds good

  8. there is a height and weight chart at the website...7th street surfshop.com.  ust type in your height and weight and it will give you a specific length that you will need among a variety of boards...by the way sweet board that al merrick...

  9. get a 6'0 but if its your first time don't get a short board because                                                              the smaller the board is the more faster it goes so if its your first time get something around about 7'10 something like that but i have a 7'6 so its your choose but just tellin you the shorter is it the faster it goes and al merricks go really fast i have ridden one before o k just tellin you but when your about to go surf look on line and see how the waves are or something and if their small bring a longboard if their big bring a short board but if u cant find anything on the computer then just bring a long board and a short board but remember if the waves are small you need a long board if big you need a short board but yes if your good then deffently get a al merrick and have fun surfing.

  10. what width and how experienced are you? consider some growth in the next couple years!! channel islands is def. the way to go!! good choice

  11. Thats a REALLY small board. Especially if your just learning. If you trying to stay small because you want tighter turning, go longer and play with the fins. A longer board 6'0-6'2 will give you alot more float so you'll catch more waves. Most boards have pull out fins now so just talk to the shop owner and tell him what you want the board to do. They'll be able to point you in the right direction with fins.
