  1. No I do not think antiques have spirits attached to them.  If you were dead and were able to revisit the world of the living, would you attach yourself to an old coffee table?

Part of the fun of antiques is they have been around awhile.  They are interesting because they have a history.  Part of the attraction is the romantic process of contemplating a piece and saying, "I wonder what this thing has seen."  It's not too much of a stretch to imagine a very detailed history or significance even if the object doesn't have one.

  2. They definitely have the energy of past owners. This is why I do not like antiques. You can feel the past.  If the previous owners have not let them go, they may do strange things as well, even if they are dead.

  3. Yes my parents did they bought a cute nite stand and in the night that thing shook  and draws slamed. They got rid of that thing next morning. Later it was lernt that they owner died and did not want that to be in theprocession of any one else.

  4. I have never bought anything that has made weird stuff happen (touch wood) but once when I went over for a sleepover at my best friends house I was looking at her porcelain dolls (by the way she collects porcelain dolls) and I saw one that was all alone near the front door away from the other dolls, it kinda gave me the creeps. I dont know why but it just gave me a weird feeling. Anyway, I asked her why the doll was away from the rest and she said that a friend of the family had given her the doll because she knew that Sammie collected them. Sammie put the doll in her bedroom with the rest of her dolls and that night she kept having nightmares about a lady dieing. Every night after that she kept having the same nightmares until she took the doll out of her room. After that she didnt have nightmares any more. Then she told me that the lady that gave her the doll got it from a house where an old lady had died, the people didn't know what to do with it so they said she could give it to Sammie.

The doll was near the door because they were getting rid of it.

  8. I have never experienced it first hand. But antique shops seem to have a lot of ghosts reported in them. I have been told about haunted chairs and stuff.

  9. Yes, there is an ore around it.

  10. Possible. You raised a good point

  11. Yes some antiques definately do have energies attached to them......

Bit lilke Ghost Seekers answer......My mum bought an old unusual third eye ring, second hand, and she says everytime she wore it, it gave her horrible night mares, and just very bad vibes, she would never say what they were, and still doesnt like talking about it, so its been put away in the safe...I became very curious, and kept asking her if i could try it, just to wear it, see if anything happened to me, but she never let me...I guess thats why its locked away, i was just curious to see if i had any strange dreams...but never got to try it.......

  12. Oops! I'm in a lot of trouble from all the "hand me down" clothes I've had to wear!! lol I've become a little leery of antiques since I've heard about the possibility of them being possessed etc.  Although I do go to thrift stores and yard sales...so I guess that's kinda the same. I wonder how you know which ones have spirits attached to them. Just today I mailed a lot of old old old family pictures to my nephew. You've got me wondering now if these family members are in the box I shipped them in. Hmmmm Well..I hope they enjoy the trip and will enjoy visiting all the other relatives there. You know..when you worry about antiques etc. having spirits attached to you...you can look and become very paranoid. I think if something happens when you get it home..that's when you know..and you should return it to the place you got it from. I wouldn't throw it away. I did that one time and I regret it. (long story)

  13. Yes,

I had bought an old letter(it still had the flower that was sent with it) that was from a woman to her husband.

When I had brought this home, I had it in my nightstand next to the bed.  I would have strange dreams that I was in Chicago in 1938.

That was the date when it arrived to her husband who was in Chicago for some kind of seminar.
