  1. Certainly.  Any data processing system with sufficient power and adequate sensors will be indistinguishable from a self-conscious living being.


  2. Yes. Anything is possible.

    If you have a paperclip it is possible for it to come to life and kill you.

    Oh and by POSSIBLE i mean there is a chance, even if it's the smallest possibility, that is still possible.
