Yes, but the Earth's greatest threat is the human race which are just as destructive as asteroids but with the advantage of creating nearly limitless copies of themselves to continue their insatiable need to kill.

Earth is constantly hit by small bodies (mostly the size of dust particles, but some much bigger), it will at some stage in the future be hit by a large body, maybe tomorrow maybe 1,000,000 years from now.

Yes they are, and it is happening all the time, but we aren't told! I personally wouldn't want to know, so am glad we are not told. If they are gonna wipe out man kind, I hope they fall directly on my head!

We've been hit before many times, you can be certain we're gonna be hit again. Unless they build a device which can blow em up or repel them. Which seems unlikely when you consider most asteroids pass us by without us knowing at all or until its far to late. Oh well I guess history will continue to repeat itself.

It depends how big they are and the speed

If it was a meteorerite if would be catastrophic and would no doubt cause heavy damage and severe injuries

Also in theory astroids hit the moon and caused all those craters

Though i highly doubt anything dangerous will happen anytime soon

It's not a matter of opinion. The Earth has been struck by asteroids many times, some of them with enough energy to kill off most of the life on the planet. It's going to happen again, the only unknown being when.

Yes, because thats what killed the Dinosaurs years ago. It wiped them all out. So, who's to say another massive asteroid won't hit earth again?

Yes, they're a threat -- Earth has been hit many times in the past. But I wouldn't worry too much. Asteroid impacts are *very* infrequent, although they can sometimes be devastating. (It's even conceivable that a large enough impact could wipe out all life on Earth.)

I think if they get to Uranus they are very painfull.
