  1. No way you can call it a robbery. Though i was pissed hopkins lost it was a fair decision. I think Hopkins got robbed in the first

Taylor fight but not this one. Calzaghe did not impress me at all though and i think even in defeat hopkins sort of exposed Calzaghe for what he is just a good fighter not a great fighter or a legend killer like he likes to think of himself as. I felt the fight was somewhat close but at the end I had calzaghe winning but still hoped hopkins would get the decision. If he would have just thrown a little more punches each round he would have easily won the fight. Hopkins clearly did more damage throughout the fight and landed the crisper harder punches and Calzaghe had no power whatsoever on any of his shots just slapping at Hopkins, but since he landed a lot more punches and was the buiser of the two i think he deserved the win. Hopkins looked ok but just wasnt active enough when it counted.

  2. nah! first right hand from b-hop was good, but if you watch the rest of the fight Joe didn't leave himself open for it too much...

And I don't know if you've followed Calzaghe's career, that was only the third time ever he's been on the ground.  Joe pressures more and more as the fight goes on, his boxing becomes more irratic and with more intent in the later rounds.

The better man won, Brenard was on defense all night and d**n did he do it well but the fact of the matter was if he'd went toe - toe in the last few rounds he woulda been KO'd.  Brilliant preformance by b-hop all the same.

    Joe Calzaghe 'The Legend Killer'!!!

  3. Hopkins won the fight,  but Calzaghe won the boxing match.  Calzaghe got knocked down and was bleeding,  but at least he was active and coming forward landing a lot of little shots.  Hopkins may have landed the harder punches but he was doing a lot of holding and just not throwing enough.  I think they had to give the decision to Calzaghe but between you and I,  I would have rather of knocked the other guy down and lost, then be bleeding and won a decision.

  4. You must have been watching a differant fight. There was no Ko in the first it was a knock down. Thats really the only round he one in my book.

  5. 8 rounds, are you kidding.

  6. I had Hopkins winning only the first round. He was getting beat 2 to 1 after that. It wasn't as close as the score. Plus, Hopkins started cheating.

  7. NO.....thr 1st round knockdown ( NOT ko ) was a flash knowdown from a half-punch/half-push.---Joe got up immediately & after round four....Joe dominated the rest of the fight.---Calzghe was gracious in complimenting Hopkins after the fight but Hopkins once again proved to the world that he is a whining sore loser just as he was with Taylor, etc.----Even Stevie Wonder could see that Hopkins definitely lost.--I predicted a Calzghe win by SD & I was correct.

  8. was a close fight...i thougth Bernard was controlling the fight early and landing the harder shots....Most of Calzaghe shots were nothing more than slap punching and i only saw about three maybe four Hard shots landed for Joe in the fight and only one had any effect.... but i will say Joe was the aggressor throughout the fight and really came on strong the last quarter of the fight....i did have Calzaghe winning on points but was hardly a blowout and even though Joe threw and landed more shots, Bernard landed the Harder shots throughout the night that had Calzaghe wobbled more than once ....  but Bernard did very little at the end to justify giving him the fight...... Good Decision even though i lost 50 dollars on the fight...........and Aiden come on  .... BHop has been down maybe twice in his career and Joe was not going to KO Hopkins with Slap Punching.... slap punching looks really good to the common fan but really does nothing to damage an opponent... Hopkins was never going to go down to a guy with no power like Calzaghe but i feel ya.... even at 43 with the most punches ever landed against Hopkins in a prize fight, Hopkins face barely looked touched....

  9. i thought it was a draw.  his low blow shenanigans probably cost him the fight.
