  1. Depends. Some bands get better while some get worse.

    Marilyn manson - Fight song.

  2. i think bands get worse because of the money issue. have you ever heard of the old saying "THE MORE WE MAKE,THE LAZIER WE GET!"

this pretains to ev erything in the work force, just watch somebody that,s barely making it by, they are holding down two jobs and working their tail off. now watch his boss who makes pretty good money and see how much labor he,s doing! matter of fact the boss won,t raise a finger to help. so, yes! most bands do not care after while and when the mansions are bought and the limo,s and wild women, they get spoiled and lazy and split up!

  3. They are not getting worse (some oif them, like little unknown bands are good) and they are not getting better than Beatles and old music for example

Last song I listened to would have to be Sophy Says by Gold Gull...

  4. Well, considering Metallica's St. Anger album...

...worse. But some bands get better. I think Evanescence got better since Fallen, even with Ben Moody's departure.

POLL: Listening to "Rock You Like a Hurricane" right now =)!

  5. It really depends, for instance;

some bands get new members, or lost members and that most of the times is a good change but theres been lots of cases where it ruined the band completely

the most recent band i've been listening to a lot is Dance gavin Dance. They had lost their lead singer and he was a very great singer and made what the band is along with the screaming guy but the dude they found fits in nicely and I think they pulled off a great new album as well as introducing other people from other bands into their songs was an awesome idea.

  6. it depends, some bands get better, some bands get lazy

most recent song- go go gadget flow by lupe fiasco

  7. Neither, music changes it doesn't get worse or better it just changes with fads and accustoms then just because music doesn't compliment what it use to be doesn't mean it's worse. Closer by Ne-yo

  8. Better. Most bands experiment with new sounds and progress their music as they grow as an artist.

But, if fans of the band don't like change, they'll think they're worse.

But that's the job of an artist--to progress musically.

    MA: El Scorcho by Weezer.

  9. i think some bands get better over time, some bands get worse.

for example, i think slipknot, disturbed, bfmv and a7x have all gone down the tubes with the exception of a few songs.

but the rest of metal is going upward.

most recent song: the new one by Gojira

  10. It depends on if they mature from a young, scared or pegged sound into a full and innovative one, or if they get stuck selling their souls to corporate pumps, or if the band members get worn out, or if they experience something incredible and can relay it freshly in new music.

And it also depends on who's listening to it. ;)

  11. i think usually they get worse. theres my pessimist attitude for you.

but they do sometimes get better!

and the most recent song i listened to was im yours by jason mraz (:

  12. It depends on the band.

Had Kurt Cobain not died, Nirvana would have just gotten worse, don't you think? (THINK ABOUT IT BEFORE GIVING ME A THUMBS DOWN) I'm not glad he died!!!! It's just, if he hadn't they would have broken up anyway, and with good reason. They were a great band, but, like GnR, the type to get a lot worse with time.

On the other hand, had the Beatles stayed together...

they would have been even more legendary than they are. (Is that possible?)

    MQ- Come As You Are

  13. I think it goes up and down!

Im listening to gunslinger by Avenged Sevenfold.

I noticed you like zacky vengeance, that's awesome!

  14. i think all bands have a peek of there carreer then the fame gets to them and they change!

    this is how it goes

    GREAT > FAME> WORSE> SUCKYNESS

    ex.

    avenged sevenfold

    atreyu

    alexisonfire

    metallica

    megadeth

    bullet for my vallentine

    emarosa

and i just listened too not good enough - escape the fate

  15. Definitely bands get worse over time.  Young angsty bands write the best music.  Usually bands peak at their second or third album, then ride their success after that.  Pearl Jam is the best example.  They wrote some classic albums, then they got a little older and a little less pissed off, then their albums suffered a bit.  It happens.  They all get older. I think one of the best artists of the 80's was The Cure. They were way ahead of their time and wrote great albums, but now they can't write for c**p.  Old fat dudes with grey hair just hang onto legacies, they don't make them.

  16. Depends on the band. Bands like Megadeth, Metallica, and In Flames got worse with time but bands like Lamb of God, Devildriver, and High on Fire seem to only get better with time.

    POLL: World Beyond by Kreator

  17. they get to be better musicians the more they play....that doesn't mean they play good songs, but their musicianship is better!

  18. I think if they start off with a lot of hype meaning they come out selling a lot of records and get instant fans then they usually get worst with time because they crack under the pressure to live up to their name.

Most recent song Crush Crush Crush Paramore

  19. well idk i dont listen to "bands" i listen to rap/hip pop i rather listen to hip pop the the beat and the words are so strong i also rather listen to the old skool hip pop and i hate the rap that is big like lil wayen and and songs that repeat the same **** over and over that the whole song is just 3 words is just c**p but i do like underground rap even thought most of the songs that i like are mostly b4 i was born are when i was just to young to know of them so i guess my answer would be it gets worse imma be 80 banging tupac in my car lmao

  20. it depends on the band. Some bands have  backbones and dont care if their music isnt "in style" anymore. A lot of bands change their music with time cuz theyre just in it for the money. They wanna play the music that is selling more albums so they too can be a part of it. Pathetic.

POLL= Maxwells Silver Hammer by the Beatles

  21. sometimes they get better, because they are so comfortable playing with eachother.

other times, the individual egos take over, and the quality of their music actually declines

  22. Depends on the band of course. Last song I listened to was Here I Am by Rick Ross ft. Nelly and Avery Storm

  23. its always the same. i hate it when people say new music now days suck, cause those people are ignorant. sure MAINSTREAM music sucks. but underground music is still kick*ss. they refuse to look outside the box these days for music. but i still like music from all generations.

  24. Well it goes both ways...like some bands come out with this amazing CD. But then the next one its so great. Like they cant live up to it. Then of course there are bands that keep suprizing you. I believe that its just a persons opinion if they like a song or not. Bands always lose fans and gain new ones all the time.

The Subways - Lines of Light

  25. I think they get WORSE.And the last song  that I listened to was When Youre Gone By Avrial

  26. That would be a HUGE generalisation. It all depends, though as bands tend to get more commercial they get worse. But you can't really say something like that to apply to all bands. And Superhero of the Computer Rage by In Flames

  27. great question!!!

    the formula is...

a band works for like 5 years on a killer first album.

then after that hits, they're forced to get out of this "sophomore slump".

i think the bands that don't get worse are well documented. like zeppelin, beatles and nirvana

  28. The bands that make it big usually get worse with time. They succumb to commercialism and become radio-friendly whores. I'd like to name my toilet after U2, and my future bidet after REM.

(Yes, REM has to do *that*, because they've disappointed me gravely in the last ten years)

    -"Sycamore", by Bill Callahan.

  29. better usually after an album or so but then gradually the get worse

some song by the smashing pumpkins i don't remember now unless listen to 50 seconds of omission by john frusciante counts

  30. It depends...some get worse. A lot of classic rock bands got modernized and worse...I loved their older music.

I really don't remember because I don't listen to new music...I listen to stations that play music that may be 20 years old or five months old, but I can never tell. Usually I just explore bands older or new from genres I love.

I'll use Eisley as an example for the first question. They were just kids when they started. Their sound was more indie and their lyrics were too...they were less professional and less mature, but more fantasy-inspired. It was a very cool sound and sometimes i miss it, but their new music is awesome too.  The lyrics and style have grown. In some ways it's worse and some ways it's better if you ask me.

  31. I think better, because there are so many MORE bands.

Of course, there are the not so good ones, but I think it's a positive change because there is such a bigger variety.

last song I listened to: You Left Me by The Maine
