Some examples

Emo (eg two guys/girls kissing)

Katy Perry (I kissed a Girl)

The Veronicas (Take me on the floor)

I like all three of them but lately more and more people of this generation are suddenly becoming g*y. Do you think people

are just becoming more tolerant or is this becoming a trend?

  1. Not too long ago being  g*y pretty much made you the devil. Now people are accepting it a lot more, and I think that's caused a lot of people to try experimenting as well. The whole emo thing is understandable, I do see how emo kids these days have been doing it for the trend.

I do believe it's becoming a trend just a bit.

  2. Oh God I hate this part, I'm going to sound so old, but here goes. When I was younger, yes I actually said that, back in the sixties and seventies a boy had one of two options. You were either a real man or, and God forbid, you were a F***ing ******. No one understood that there could be a third option. Most of us pretended to be real men. Popular psychology over these last 40  + years has taught us and sensitised us to the many variables in human nature and what makes each of us unique. As individuals, our sexuality, while similar to that of other's, is a unique expression of who we are as a person.

I don't think the Bi thing is a new trend, rather I see it as a natural evolution of our understanding of who we have always been as humans and now our culture is more comfortable and so much less threatened with what is different from what used to be called the 'norm'.

  3. Umm I'm not sure but with Emo people *as myself* I think its because emo people aren't as accepted as others so they just want more attention and love from either a guy or a girl. Any attention is good. Bi is not a trend. Its a cry for love. *my opinion*

  4. It could be or it could be that people are becoming more open about it now its getting more accepted...

  5. Partially it is becoming cool.

But i also think a lot more people know its acceptable, and thus think of their own sexuality more, so more are happy to admit to not being straight.

So i think its a combination of both.

  6. i kinda think its a gd thing that's happening people are going to become more accepting and as long as the people that say they are bi actually are then alls good and if they pretend then at the end of the day there the ones that will get hurt

  7. I am sad to agree with you that it seems to be becoming a trend.

And I have to be honest when I say that I hate it.

Those people are straight posers and they make us bisexuals look like nothing special. But we are special. We're the real deal. *huff*

  8. ok if bisexual is a trend, then it will go away just like any other trend.

if its not then it won't!

ppl keep asking this for many years now.

it is obvious its not a trend.

its ideas and comments like "bi is a trend" that makes ppl less tolerant of bisexuality and force many ppl back into the closet.

  9. I reckon before all this people just hid in the closets. So after all these songs coming out, and celebrities become bi and stuff, it gives the people courage to come out as bi. Well... that's what I think anyway
