  1. Absolutely NOT!  I am sorry you have been diagnosed with Hodgkin's--I know several people who have beaten this illness and gone on to live normal, healthy lives.

Good luck--and do try to get off the cold meds...you don't want any extra chemicals in your body, especially when fighting cancer.

  2. Are you talking about taking DMX?

Taking drugs can sometimes lower a person's immunity but unless there is more to your story I seriously doubt that taking DMX was why you came down with lymphoma.

Everyone who is newly diagnosed with cancer, especially when the diagnosis comes out of the blue, wants to know why they happened to come down with cancer.  If you were a long time smoker and came down with lung cancer then yes there would be a connection - but- way too many kids abuse DMX and there is no epidemic of kids coming down with lymphoma afterward. Your cancer was just a coincidence so quit feeling guilty and just concentrate on getting well.

I read your other question about you not sleeping.  Unless your Dr does not trust you to not abuse drugs then he should give you an RX for something to help relax you and help you sleep. If you do not think that you can take medicine only as directed then do not ask the Dr for meds because right now you need your head screwed on straight. You will sleep soon enough after you get used to the fact that you really do have cancer.

FYI - Trazadone is a safe drug that will help you sleep if sleeping is your real goal. Trazadone is not abuseable so you might ask your Dr about trying a trazadone before bed and see if this helps you sleep.

    Good luck with your treatments.
