Do you think berbatov is the man for Manchester united?

Berbatov is widely regarded as one of the sensations of last season, one of the best strikers in the league but is this really the case? After examining the stats of his season I am not so sure.

Firstly he scored 12 and 8 assists in 33 premiership appearances. A comparison to make here is to Van Persie who got both 1 goal and 1 assist less. Van Persie broke his foot in January and played no part in the second half of the season.

His goals scoring record in the Uefa cup is impressive but hardly the highest level of competition. Goals against the likes of Braga(2), Club Bruge(2), Dinamo bucharest etc

Against the bigger teams his goal scoring record is distinctly unimpressive. 4 games against Chelsea and 1 goal, 2 against Arsenal and 0 goals, 2 against Sevilla and 0 goals and also played against Man U and Liverpool and failed to find the net.

In fact in the league he only scored one single goal against a Top half team, Everton.

Out of his 12 League goals 4 of them were against relegated teams and a further 3 were against the teams that survived relegation on the final day. The 4 goals that is left unaccounted for were against the mighty Man City, Newcastle and Middlesbrough.

So is Berbatov really the 30M Man everyone is touting him as? I say no.

He might be the man that Man Utd is looking for. It doesn't matter that he scored against the lower team. At least he scored. Man Utd is having difficulty to get a goal as Tevez and Rooney is not out-and-out striker.

It was a little bit too expensive though. 30M for a 27 years old.

i really dont think he is the man for manchester united i cant really see him doing good for them i never thought he was that great anyway he is too relaxed with all his play and the man u players aren't going to like it i dont think he is the 30mil man everybody claims he is worth especially taking into account how old he is =|

Personally he's a good striker but it doesnt mean he'll play well at Manu, just like sheva 2 chelsea and kean 2 liv

THe host spurs had USELESS middle last season. Do you expect the strikers, Kean and Berba, to play alone? If he was in a better team he would of scored more goals.

By the way i think the stats you listed are wrong. He scored 15 goals and had 11 assists in 33 games. Last season he got a total of 22 goals and 13 assists in 42 games. Not bad. But is it 30 mil? I really don't care. As long as he develops into great player and help take Bulgaria to the World Cup.

Who knows?  Life's a gamble.  He sure knows how to take a penalty though as Chelsea found out in the Carling cup last season.
