With all the talk about global warming there's been a big push recently for people to go back to using reusable plastic sports bottles instead of drinking bottled water. Do you think bottled water as an idea has run it's course & people will stop buying it all together within the next few years?

  1. I recently just switched to sports bottles and a Brita filter. Not only is it a waste of money to spend buying water bottles but the amount of trash is huge! I would buy the big packs of like 36 from Safeway, so not only do you now have 36 empty bottles but the cardboard box. I am earth friendly and do recycle ALL the bottles and the box but I got tired of all the bottles cluttering the house. Now I just keep one big plastic bottle that I use to fill the pitcher which is to large to fill in the sink.

  2. No, I don't think people will just stop buying water bottles altogether within the next few years. Water is too tasty and it has been estimated that every day about 12 million americans buy bottled water. I don't think that amount will decrease anytime soon.

  3. As long as the bottled water companies keep on selling people will keep on buying.

  4. I think that the people of this world  have no idea how bad "global warming" is and if they think that switching from bottled water to tape water with re-usable bottles will help, then they're naive and sadly misinformed.  And believe me, I'm not a person of hopelessness, but it's going to take alot more than a bottled water addiction to change peoples habits. I feel and see the new marketing campaign of "Going GREEN" is in and that's great, but only when I see it's effect on Mother Earth with scientific proof of it's positive effects, will I believe.  Until then, I will live in doubt and bear witness to the natural disasters that are happening around us, everyday, in everypart of the world and wonder if we didn't act sooner when every expert told of us this many, many years ago. Sorry to sound so negative about this, but when you are faced with facts that you can't ignore, sugar coating the situation with Bottled Water just doesn't seem to compare, but this is a very good question and should spark some great ideas and conversation. Have a GREAT weekend!
