Do you think cellphones are important for modern people?

Important, yes.  But to a point.  It drives me nuts seeing everyone on the bus messaging away on their phones when they could be reading or listening to music instead.

In Greece, everyone... and I mean everyone has a cell phone.  Even the poorest person.  You hear them rining in movie theaters, seminars, churches, EVERYWHERE.

Such a powerful instrument would be important to anyone that had one.

people want everything faster and faster... it speeds up availability and getting answers or a hold of someone...

yes,and i think that they are very useful too...i was in a car accident and was able to call for help.

It sure SEEMS to be... Even the poor African people in the middle of Africa have them (to warn each other of rampaging Elephants- no doubt!). :)

I love that my parents can reach me almost any time.  

I love that my children can reach me almost any time.

They are more important for some people than others, but they're really important for me.
