Question:

Do you think changing International Cricket to this format would be beneficial?

Right now international cricket has 9 test teams and 10 OD teams. And these teams play different tournaments every year.

What if instead of national teams, we have city teams from every country. There would then be a lot of teams from many nations. These teams can then play with each other. For example, Chennai Super Kings vs Melbourne Marauders, or something like that.

The international matches between national teams can be held only for important tournaments like ICC Champions trophy, World Cup, Asia Cup, etc.

What do you think?

  1. I do not think this is good idea. Better we have matches between countries rather than between cities.. Otherwise how can you enjoy matches between India vs Pakistan !

  8. ya i guess there is a need for evolution...

its saves tym, more enjoyable among people...

u hav d example of the english team vs newzealnd team when there was no day limit in late 18 century and one of the governor was watchin the match and he after so many days of humble waiting and patience he ordered 2 kill whole of the english team ;)

  9. That happens in football & it works well there. I'm not sure the idea will be successful in Cricket considering the long history of this game & that "national" passion would generate more passion among people rather than a "part" of nation.

  10. i dont think so it will work as of now ,but 10-15 years down the line it may (80%) for sure

  11. no way
