  1. don't worry you won't hurt yourself but to be on the safe side don't be a flyer that is the most dangerouspositionn on acheer leadingg team because your up in the air but if you know how to tumble good you can be a tumbler or you can be a basethat'ss the girls who holds up the flyer but its not a dangerous sport its really fun and you won't get hurt you should really go for it and try out

  2. No, it really isn't. There are a lot of articles out there stating that it is, but those authors aren't doing their homework about the real statistics and prefer to be sensationalist instead. The following well-thought out articles should help alleviate your fears a bit:

As always, there is no guarantee in life that you won't get hurt doing _anything_. If you really want to be a cheerleader then go for it. To keep yourself safe make sure you have a coach who knows what (s)he is doing and doesn't push kids to do things they aren't ready for, and don't try things you think you could get hurt doing.

    Good luck!

  3. It's dangerous if you don't know what you're doing and don't practice in a safe environment. Everything has risks. As long as you're not doing something to out of reach for your level, and always have a coach near by you should be fine. NEVER attempt anything on your own without your coach nearby. This can be EXTREMELY dangerous. Especially in stunting. Just be on the safe side :]

  4. It CAN be dangerous depending on what your doing, if your not flipping or flying then what are you worried about? Ive been tumbling for seven years and im still alive little injurys here and there, So just make sure you have trainers and youll be fine

  5. The truth is--everything is dangerous. With every sport comes possible injuries. You just have to take a chance. Now, I've done cheerleading, and I've never gotten seriously hurt--just a sprained wrist once--and I'm pretty sure I'm still alive.

    ..Unless, I'm the living dead.

  6. Don't let fear keep you from doing what you truly want. Yes, cheerleading can be dangerous if you're not careful and doing the stunts properly. And chances are, you won't die.

  7. It is dangerous, but if you are willing to do it the right way, then you will be fine-I promise. The coaches are not going to let you do anything they dont think you are ready for. And you usually do it on soft mats with a bunch of spotters the first time. Good luck! You should definitely try it!
