Not at all. Its a serious competition of ingenuity between two players where each player is trying to use thought out tactics and strategies to outsmart the other. There are grandmasters of chess who devote themselves to mastering these tactics to better themselves in the game. It most certainly isn't luck.

own movements.  One play you make can be game over, you need to keep calm and focused.

You might get "lucky" if your opponent makes a mistake that enables you to win, but that's more due to a lack of skill on their part than it is due to "luck".

There's really no luck at all in chess..  it's skill, or lack of skill, that determines winner and loser.

No Chess is skill! If you are good at chess you won't blunder into oppenents traps and you will be able to create a stratagy based on their movements. Chess is skill not luck. You need to watch your moves and try to predict what your opponent is doing next.
