It made him look more desperate it shows that they haven't a leg to stand on they are just going through the motions now they know its all over for them.

I think it helped. It will be hard to attack her, having a child in the armed forces, and another with Down Syndrome.

If the Repubs decide to fight eye to eye with the Dems, it should be easy to paint the Dems as being "baby hating anti-war liberals".

I think his ticket got stronger, but as a Candidate I think he is going to be overshadowed by his #2 for a long time. I foresee Palin getting much more media coverage, and scrutinized more than McCain does, people are going to forget he is running.

I think this hurt him, badly.  The race will be a lot closer now because of this.

If he selected Romney, I think it would have been a huge win for the Republicans, now I'm not so sure.

If she performs as well as Hillary did, it will make him stronger, but her inexperience in national politics and unfamiliarity with many policy issues is likely to cause her to make mistakes and look incompetent, and that will hurt him.

Honestly, I think it may initially have been a help but as time goes by it is going to hurt him.  It is clear he does not plan to use her as a partner in the Presidency and she will just be a "trophy" VP.
