I feel like they go a little bit overboard sometimes.

And on that note, do you think they have the right to tase someone?

  1. DO I THINK COPS can go beyond the limit of being brutal YES OF COURSE, these people are just human just like you and me. We all can be brutal sometimes, do you know that in psychology it is stated we all have a DARK SIDE, sometimes we tinker with it once in a while but others do not visit their dark side knowing it will be awaken anytime soon.

YOU FEEL THEY go a little overboard sometimes, yes of course they do. It is but human nature they do, if they are robots well I think they are not then they do not overboard.

DO THEY HAVE RIGHT to tase anyone is not even correct. No it incorrect they have all the luxury in the world to tase whoever they think, we all got rights now if that right got violated then we have to complain even the if the guy is a POLICE OFFICER.

  2. No way. They are too nice to criminals.Escalate the brutality and I would be fine with it.

    Shoot first and tase later.

  3. Think of this, when you get out of your car, all you think about is where do you go from here. When they get out of their's,they know they may be killed. We have had two officers killed for helping out other officers when they were off duty. That has got to put your back against a wall. I don't care who you are.

    Tasers, non-lethal....yep sounds good.

  4. For the most part, they do a good job, but there are stories every now and then of some eager cop that shoots someone or tases someone for the wrong reason...

for example, my friend was drunk, not plastered, and ran from the cops and got tased 6 times and he got the charges dropped cause it was excessive force.

  5. I think that some cops can be a little brutal at times but not all cops are that way, and if someone is not doing what the cop asks them to and they try to run of or hit the cop i think they can do what ever is necessary.

  6. nope they're awesome

and yes they have every right in the world to tase someone

  7. I think if they arrest a murderer the cop needs to blow his head off

  8. cops are ****

just cause they have a gun and a badge

it gives them every right to do whatever they want

nah, i don't think they do.

  9. Let me answer this from an officers opinion.

Can police go overboard, yes, absolutely...but think of this, what would you do if someone who is covered in blood and intoxicated despises your presence. Then proceeds to spit blood on you. What would you do? I am assuming that you are human and would want to do something about it. However, as a police officer I cannot. As a civilian, yes you can.

Remember police are humans too. Even we make mistakes and sometimes our tempers flare just like yours. But we are required to keep our cool and if we don't, then we are instantly using excessive force.

On terms of the tasers...I do carry a taser. The X26. Studies have proven the taser to be a very effective tool. There has been no case of the taser EVER causing death. It has been deemed a contributing factor, but never the cause. In the cases where death has occured, it could be due to Cocaine Pyschosis, which raises the offenders body core temperature to deadly levels already. The exact same worries and media hype about the taser were seen by pepper spray in the 1980's. And now pepper spray is used by every Law Enforcement Agency out there. The benifit of the taser is that there are NOT ONE SINGLE after effect. I know this to be fact. I was tased in training just for the ability to carry it.

I hope I have answered your question.

    be safe

  10. We can always use more cops.  Become one, and you can deal with people in whatever way you please.

  11. Officers have a very tough job these days. they are subjected to much more violent criminals that are armed and dangerous. they also have to deal with judges and a society where crimainals rights are placed ahead of the victims. and for going overboard that is kind of a media invention. the news only reports what it wants the public to hear and not the full story about all the circumstances. and yes  i think they can tase someone. its definetly a lot safer and less lethal than a 9 mm slug. plus most people who get tased are people who either are trying to harm officers or who are refusing to drop a weapon.

  12. they say that tasing them is sooo much better and doesn't cause permanant damage, but people have died from that. they will just waltz on up and tase you nowadays.

  13. Like all humans, they can get carried away sometimes.

I say better to taze someone than to beat them into submission............

  14.      Ask anyone who has been tasered just once and listen to the stories of multiple tasings and your answer is obvious. The right to use a taser as an effective non-fatal instrument is unquestionable. This must be balanced against the few who abuse this right. Your own perspective depends upon your likelyhood to be the abuser or the abused....

Tasers are generally ineffective upon individuals under the influence of heavy dosing of PCP.

Too few understand the impact of even a single taser. Officers require more training and better instrument than present tasers.

Too many officers, albeit a fraction of the force, go overboard with brutality. Part of the nature of the business is it's attraction to bully's. Unlikely to know until someone has been on the force and in the streets. Interesting that bully's enjoy the company of other bully's which explains the taser "parties" where groups of officers repeatedly taser individuals on the ground writhing in pain and obviously unable to physicallly comply to verbal instructions. Tends to encourage further taser shots.

  15. tazers have been known to be lethal...they do have that right in certain situations but it's contraversial(sp?) of course there are many police officers that get carried away, on a power trip but looks to me without undeniable proof, they can pretty much do whatever.i know peolple who have had the snot beat out of them in the police station...if you comited a crime your word means nothing and they get away with it. maybe with a high enough priced lawyer something could be done

  16. No!!!!

    People gotta stop resisitng arrest

And YES i think they should be able to tase
