teachings in school. Dont you think if all children spent an hour at school everyday learning about what Jesus taught and did for you, we would respect one another better.

Also do you think every school in the UK should have the 10 commandments posted up somewhere because it gives a general guide of values that will stay with them in their heart

I was born and raised in the US and came here when i married my english husband. But I must tell you that I am astonished with the lack of morality in your country. You have news agents who sell newspapers with nude women. your newsagents all sell pornography, you have so many homosexuals on tv, you hardly go to church, your children are not taught basic christian values. This is an ok country but it could be a lot better and i urge you because i love you and want you to find jesus and understand that he died on the cross for YOU! and that all this crime you have here can be irradicated not by Govt or police but by instilling christian values

  1. no it has risen because we just fail to teach about anything.. children are badly educated, left to their own resources. ie  in front of the tv or on their playstations etc. family values dont exist. preaching about jesus wont change things. good caring parental guidance is the answer

  2. You are wrong I'm afraid.Religious studies are very much part of the curriculum in the UK.

  3. Let me say, I am a good person.I try to be good,if someone treats me with respect and manners, I do likewise.I was going to insult you, but realise, you are naive in the extreme. You are the same as the rest of the religious freaks, although much less extreme.Wake up,the world is corrupt, people are greedy, perverted, and self obsessed. Most of us try to be good,in a world gone mad, don't bring Jesus into the equation,it makes your argument seem ridiculous

  4. Nothing to do with Jesus but it has to do with our tolerance.  We tend to tolerate everything these days when in fact we should be condemning them and punishing them in public to shame them.

In certain countries lynch mob takes care of these things and public are likely to turn a deaf ear and blind eye to such actions.  This is what we need in our civilisation otherwise we are going to be the laughing stock of this world.

  5. So what about all the deaths that have occurred in the name of one God or another? I think I will stay an atheist.

  6. I think more people have been killed in the name of religion than any other cause.  The Huguenots had to flee France for their lives, the Spanish Inquisition killed anyone who disagreed with their beliefs, England had the Smithfield burnings and Bloody Mary, the Christians killed many during the Crusades,  the Jews have persistently been persecuted for centuries not just in the Holocaust.  The Middle East has been fought over for 2000 years - and all in the name of religion.

You don't need Christian values to be a good person, you just need loving parents prepared to raise their children with strong moral values.  Christianity doesn't come into it.  As long as people believe in religion then will always be wars and conflict.

  7. Er ....no.

I think the problems of society today are due to numerous complex factors not least of them being inescapable stress.

Whether you believe in god or not does not make a person ' good'

It is unhelpful and insulting to parade your home country as a  shining beacon against ours.We may  share the same language but it is a wholly different culture. For instance WE are actually allowed to enter parliament and be an Atheist.

You wishing to help us See the Light and follow the 'American ' way hardly contributes to the current world view of America plc.

  8. no I don't... and statistically the UK is still better than the US on most crime figures.

The last thing anyone needs is more Jesus.

  9. who are you to judge people?

people don't need to rely on a book, it looks like your the one who has very limited morals

its idiots like you which makes me hate religion so much

i don't want or need your preaching

half the people the church are paedophiles

  10. No. I don't think that brainwashing children is the way forward!

Teaching them, preferably by example, to be kind and thoughtful, to take responsibility for the outcomes of their actions and to treat all beings as equal and of worth would be of more value.

If your christian beliefs help you to be a better person and sustain you, that is a good thing.

Please afford others the same respect for whatever beliefs enable them to be better human beings.

The fact that a person has a belief does not make that belief a truth, except to them!

  11. I feel it is fundamentally the parents responsibility to instil decent morals to their children. If they can't learn what is right and wrong from those who are supposed to love them most, then what hope is there. Teaching in Schools is a bonus but the onus should not be on their shoulders.

  12. There's a simple answer here - if you don't like it, go home.

The naked female form is a beautiful thing to look at, and although men buy the magazines you mention not to merely admire the beauty of the body, surely it is better to do what they do in private, then to ogle women on the street or be sexuallt aggressive in public?

There is NOTHING wrong with being homosexual.  If you thing it's unnatural you clearly have no grasp of biology and no concept of the sexual behavior of other creatures besides humans.

Many people do go to church, but many choose to worship i their own homes, and many more do not agree with organised religion precisely because it creates narrow minded bigots like yourself.

As it happens, I agree that some form of discipline is needed in schools etc, and I think we could do a lot worse that the teachings of Christianity - after all, it is just a simple set of good rules to live by when you get down to it, as is almost every other religion.  However posting such derogatory comments about a country that has adopted you as it's own is rude and frankly unfair.

  13. What a load of c**p. If you don't like the papers. TV don't buy or watch it.

And Jesus didn't die on the cross for me.......he was a man so he must have done it for himself !!!!! lol

  14. What a ridiculous statement. From some of the statements you have made within the statement as a whole I guesss you were a follower of Hitler too. How naive and ignorant.

What is wrong in Britian today is that a lot of us have lost our identity, we have bceome greedy and as a result we have lost family values and discipline

Oh and how awful - you can see nude women and there are g**s on tv.....Do you think we should burn them all.. Good grief your religion - has taught you zilch woman.

  15. No. I think the parents should say Grace with their children at the breakfast table before sending those children off to school. I also think that open prayer has no place in our schools because no one can tell me who will be writing the prayer: "In nomine Patri, et Filli, et Spiritu Sancti", "Shmah, Yisrael Adenoi Elihenu, Adenoi El Chod", "Allah U Akbar", "Namyo Horen Gekyo". Take your pick. And if you don't know what any of those preceding prayers mean, then yours is a very closeted view of who people worship and how people worship.

  16. is it not in USA that 100s of children have been taken away into care because of all the abuse they faced at the hands of some religious sect?  i don't really think america has anything to teach the rest of the world when it comes to morals.  And no Jesus' teachings would do nothing to prevent the societal changes we're seeing.

  17. No.  Christians tend to engage in criminal activities at a higher rate than atheists in the US.  If learning about Jesus prevented crime you'd expect the opposite.  The US population is overwhelmingly Christian, but secular European nations have less crime.

  18. Perhaps, if we lived in the middle ages

Little kids don't care about Jesus: they don't understand the importance of what he said, and that's if they believe in him, and older kids don't care

Plus, there are so many kids who are of a different religion, or are athiest. Do you really think they will take in what is being lectured at them?

I doubt they'd even turn up. I know I wouldn't. I don't believe in any God (after all, unlike what seems to be the majority of Americans, i am a person of fact and science, not make believe and insecurity causing me to cling on to some assurance that i will live forever). If they introduced this in my school, I would leave.

Oh, and what exactly is wrong with there being g*y people on tv? Are you homophobic or what? Sorry, but i thought your god said something about loving your neighbour, and treating them as you wanted to be treated, despite who or what they were...you are being rather hypocritical. And do be serious, we have a lot less crime now than we did like 500 years ago when everyone went to church and everyone was scared of god, so that's a base and factless arguement (rather like those for a god).

Do not waste my time suggesting such useless and worthless solutions. There are plently of people who go to church and are religious who end up as mass murdurers etc.

Plus, I am not a bad person, and i don't believe in God. I am not a druggie or a truant or a drunk thank you

  19. I think learning about Jesus would be really good.Kids today are taught do what feels good and they have no moral fiber.
