  1. I think dark blue and orange would be fine.

To give you some ideas, I found a few idea sets/collages that might help.

You can also create your own at Polyvore.com. I'd done one a few weeks ago (http://www.12kwedding.com/2008/07/13/my-... and it really helps you get a sense for where you should add a color or item or take one away.

    Good luck!

  2. Ok, here is the flip side to the previous comment posted.  I love the idea! Picture this - It's the wee hours of the morning and it is still dark but you can see the sun start to peak through the sky.  There you have your colors...lol!

    Stars ~ White (your dress)

Night time sky ~ Midnight Blue (men's tuxedos)

    Dawn/sun rising ~ Burnt Orange (women's dresses)

The only alteration I would make is to get rid of the black all together.  It is too similar to the midnight blue and you lose the effect.  According to the website http://weddings.lovetoknow.com/wiki/Augu... - Orange and midnight blue are excellent combinations that utilize unique colors for fresh appeal.  May I recommend also going with orange calla lillies.  They are absolutely beautiful and look great in any wedding bouquet!  Here is picture of a beautiful bouquet I found, as well :

I hope that I have helped you make your decision :0)

  3. I'd do black & orange for Halloween.  Or even Brown & orange would be better than blue & orange.  Dark blue & orange has visions of football teams and cheerleaders running through my head.  Its the orange that is really making my mind spin.

If the girls are in Blue and the boys in blue and black, where would the orange come in?

Since you have the girls & boys both wearing blue - - - why not have Blue and another color that - IMO - would be more complimentary to it than orange.  Such as Blue & white/ivory or Blue & Purple or Blue & Red.  Blue & Brown would be OK even.
