  1. They are more independent, if that is what you mean.

Many modern women prefer to `go it alone` - that is fine if they can afford it  - but two can usually live cheaper than one!

  2. oh silly... divorce rates are the lowest they've been since 1970.  and it looks like they may decline even more.  don't believe me?  google "most recent divorce statistics".

  3. Horrible question! I hope you are joking.

I could go on and on about how incorrect you are, but i do not wish to waste my time.

  4. divorce rates are higher because men have not learned to do what they have been told lol

  5. No.  Divorce rates are higher because divorce is easy to come by and carries no social stigma.  countries where this is the case invariably have high divorce rates, even very 'tradtional' muslim countries, which have some of the highest divorce rates in the world.

  6. No it's because divorce payouts are higher.

England has been called the divorce capital of Europe.

1.Soccer star Ray Parlour was fleeced of nearly 2 million by his ex-wife.

2.Heather Mills gets £24m in McCartney divorce

3.In 2005, advertising tycoon Sir Martin Sorrell was ordered at the High Court to pay ex-wife Sandra £30m.

4.Former hot dog salesman Mark Dixon settled with his wife of 17 years, Trudy, for the sum of £28m in 2005.

5.When Princess Diana and Prince Charles divorced in 1996 it is believed she was awarded a £17m lump sum as well as £350,000 a year to run her private office.

  7. No, I think it is because, initially, some women think they are marrying a nice decent bloke with a bit of intelligence but then realise that what they ACTUALLY married was an ignorant, rude, lazy and controlling man. Women no longer have put up with that.......and they don't. ;-)

  8. I have been married to the same man for 30 years and he has NEVER told me what to do. I would not have married him in the first place.

  9. You have to marry first to get divorced. I'm not planning on making that mistake again. I prefer living in sin-it's much more satisfying. I've never done what I was told before during and after marriage-so divorce has nothing to do with it.

  10. Uh . . . yeah. That's funny. REAL funny.

If a woman needs to "do what she's told" to stay married, she should get divorced, anyway.

  11. I think there are no clear gender roles anymore.  Women want careers, money, expensive toys and cars those things use to be reserved for men.

  12. That's a funny question.  I've always been obedient in my marriages; it never stopped me from divorcing my 1st. There  comes a time when a girl has got to do what a girl has got to do, or just sit there in the quagmire.

  13. Yep. Women have more rights and more freedom and no longer have to put up with abusive men through fear of not having an income or being stigmatised. Therefore there are more divorces.

  14. Yes

  15. Yes indeed!  Only today after cleaning the loo's in the house, my husband inspected them with a white glove and told me that if I did not scrub harder tomorrow it could well end in divorce.  So, I cleaned them all again tonight ;-)  Just in case.  Who's shoes would I take off after a hard days work to be replaced by slippers if he divorced me?

I am not so sure that your question was received so tongue-in-cheek as was intended!  I love the answers though!!!

  16. No, women initiate 2/3rds of divorces - maybe it's the men who won't do what their wives say (LOL) :-P

  17. I think that is all together sexist. >,>

I believe it is so because people who do get married perhaps don't understand 'marriage' to the same extent as they did a hundred years a go and soon after realise they have either made a big mistake or can't be arssed with the legal position its put them in. There are many factors. Marriage just doesn't seem to matter anymore.

  18. Divorce rates are higher now because many men are clueless on how to treat a woman and have equality in a relationship.

  19. I think men should be seen and not heard.  That's probably what the problem is.  They can't cope with doing what they are told.   lol!!

    :-)))

  20. no, it's mainly because the morals and ethics in this world are getting lower and lower, more people are having s*x, then getting married at a young age and divorcing because they rushed into a relationship

  21. hahaha ABSOLUTELY!

it's because women are allowed to work and own property so they aren't staying with a lazy guy who beats the h**l out of them or verbally abuses them. Guess if guys knew their place they wouldn't be handed divorce papers so much.

    ;)

  22. Naw, I think it's 'cause we men don't want whatever it is that we don't want......

    ...in some cases.

I divorced my wife ....and it was quite mutually acceptable and agreed on.

    Sash.
