Those are my only options. It's Ohio highway traffic, mostly 4 lanes, I-75.

Which day would be more congested? I'm guessing wednesday driving will be worse, because hopefully all the normal people are already at their destinations by thanksgiving morning.

  1. Yeah, driving the night before, you'll probably be in bumper to bumper traffic all the way and everyone's tired and out of sorts.  Get a good night's sleep and leave early in the morning before everyone gets out there.

  2. Driving Thursday morning will be MUCH less congested.  I supply stations with gasoline and can tell you, it's all we can do to keep them in product Wednesday night, then Thursday morning, it's incredibly quiet.  Traffic is split on the weekend return, with Sunday being heavier, but Saturday is fairly busy as well.

The Wednesday before Thanksgiving is by far, the busiest travel day of the year on American roads.

  3. An early Thursday morning commute would most likely put you in less traffic than leaving on a Wednesday night when everyone is enroute to their favorite holiday destinations.
