Three differant people based in Lagos all put bids in allmost double the highest bid.

Now the winning bidder wants me to post the item to lagos before the paypay has gone through into my A/C. Now this is the funny bit. I must hurry as it is a birthday gift for her son who works with sick children.

Before you say it, i have know intention of sending her anything, as i have told her; no paypal no shipping.

The item is a gold chain

  1. oh tell me about it i tried selling my daughters psp, games & films and 5 times now these muppets have purchased it.  But ebay still make you wait 2 weeks to get your bloody selling fees back.

So the only way i can get round it is to list it in my sisters ebay shop on a buy it now with immediate payment  at  least that way if they dont pay the listing is still on going

I dont accept paypal from any of these lovely places like Africa, Nigeria and belive it or not Germany (just as bad)

If they want the item then they have to send GBP or US Dollars or a postal order, as a Lovely lady from trinidad did when she purchased my item she fully understood why i would not accept a paypal payment from her, so at least there is some honest people out there.

  2. This is a huge red flag!!!! Do not ship it at all, even if you receive payment.

You will not be covered under PayPal's seller protection... even if you ship with a tracking number. If the seller actually sends payment, he/she will file an item not received dispute after receiving the item. It does not matter if you have proof that it was received because for whatever reason Nigeria is not included under the PayPal protection policy. If you do ship, you assume 100% of the risk. And it sounds very likely that you will be scammed.

Your best bet would be to send a second chance offer to somebody who won't scam you, or relist the item.

  4. do not do it,

i sold a n95 on ebay, the buyer paid with pay pal , i sent the phone,

3 days later pay pal contact me, the credit card used to pay for the phone with pay pal was stolen,

not only did they take what funds i had from my pay pal account they dipped into my bank account too,

so the guy who claims his credit card was stolen got every penny back, so lucky sod got a free phone and i was the only one that lost out, since then i have never used pay pal

    regards x kitti x

  5. You try not to be racist but stories like this dont help.

  6. dont send the item unless you have the payment first.

if they wanted the item quickly, they should send the payment straight away for quick delivery.

lol their reason is funny "gift for her son who works for the sick"

do they think we british are stupid?

also you can report them to ebay for fraud bidders etc.

usually nigerian bidders pick on the ebay holders if they are fairly new.

    did you join recently?

  7. Because of all these scammers I have now put on my items that I will only post to the UK only. Ebay should sort them out but they are unfortunately busy counting all their profits to look into it.

The customer comes first eh? My ***!

  8. nigeria isnt known for its benefits to the greater world

  9. eBay is a license to steal, they have paypal and paypal is one of the worst scams going, they steal your money and if you give them your bank info you're really screwed. I LOATHE eBay and use them only in a dire emergency. I prefer ioffer.

  10. That's interesting - thanks for the warning.

  11. I would think a con myself. the post to Nigeria is c**p here in fact. I know I send things and the hubby has not got them a year later. most likely gone walk about. same with things he posted to me from Ireland. Really if you must know if your really dealing with someone in Nigeria they would be saying I will pay for UPS or Dhl.
