  1. YEss i do think everything happens for a reason, sometimes those reasons are UnKnoWn. but sometimes always for the best somehow.

  2. Yes and No.  It's hard to explain why some things happen, like death, but I believe you can always learn from everything that happens to you.  I believe God has a plan for everyone, one that sometimes involves a lot of rough and trying times, but it's our true test to see if we can come out ahead.  I believe you can become a better person by learning from the things that happen to you.

  3. yep, we are all little pawns in the karma game.

  4. I hate that expression.  It certainly doesnt or you wouldnt have children and young adults dying of cancer every day.  People dont have weather destroying their homes or killing their loved ones because everything happens for a reason.  It is a generic, silly and misinformed logic started by somebody who oversimplified a tough situation.

  5. Not really. All you can do is try hard to do right by the things you can control. Happily, it often seems that things happen for a reason because, when people work hard at making the best, it tends to work out well.

  6. Yes! This is why I am here on M&D for 3 yrs!

  7. No, I don't believe that everything happens for a reason...I DO, however, believe that good can come out of even the worst that happens to us, making us stronger, wiser, kinder, more compassionate, understanding, loving...

If that is a reason for something bad to happen, I guess it is a pretty decent reason.

  8. not really. I think there is cause and effect and that is mistaken that everything happens for a reason

  9. Yes, have you ever looked back on a situation and thought..wow.. had I not made that move I wouldn't be here today?  Well, that is a prime example.  We all have a path, sometimes we stray from the path, but we all have roads that lead us back to where we belong.

  10. well let use recent events as recent the guy who just won 8 metals in the Olympics he has change a lot of peoples path for the good and the worst now yea some one out there has made it there purpose in life to beat that record now also at the same time someone has given up on trying to beat it that record

  11. I do... I admit, a few years back, I would have said that life is what you make of it.. but I personally had some intense personal issues happen during the last two years and have no doubt that they happened for a reason and that reason is clear to me... as well as odd turns of events that led me back to the right road..

For example, my ex physically attacked me in front of our daughter, I took off running with only her.. and (a few days later) happened to call an ad in the paper for a furnished apartment.  The lady who answered listened to me, turned out she had been a victim of abuse, and let us in with nothing.... only a promise to pay her in the future..  I called many attorneys to take my case.. they were all too busy.. but then I found one who took it immediately, did what he said he would do and for the price he said he would.. I wanted to move into a house with my daughter, and found one in a nearby town.. but some bad circumstances happened which caused me to not get the house, and I later found out, if I had moved there, it was just over the county line and I would have had to refile my divorce and start all over..  When I left my husband, I was so afraid for my daughter and myself.. and because of what he did that day and after, I was awarded full custody with him having supervised visitation.. yes, I do believe things happen for a reason.. and I thank God every day for the blessings in my life.

  12. There is always a cause and an effect.  Is it all predetermined no...But, as we go through things we gain experience, and we can always look at everything we go through and take away the good, and find some reason for it to benefit us.  Its really all in how you look at it.

  13. No, as much as we all want to believe there is some divine hand controlling the outcome (thus allowing us to believe that we have some control by convincing this divine hand to make change on our behalf), the universe seems to run on a chaotic path of a multitude of cause and effect.

  14. Everything happens for a reason, even if we don't realize it at the time, what we do now and the choices we make, will affect us down the road.
