  1. of course

we use left over lettuce, and pickles and ketchup and all that and we use 1-2 day old cinno. buns O__O

  2. They absolutely do in certain circumstances.  There are items that are prepared that can last for a select number of days.  Usually, you will see salads fall under this category.  There is usually a sticker with a day of the week when it expires.  I have actually seen a sticker on top of another, and when I peeled the top one off, there was an older date underneath it.

The vast majority of items at a fast-food restaurant are thrown away at the end of the night.  Especially with big chain restaurants.  Items like burgers, fries, chicken sandwiches, etc., will be thrown away.

  3. yes

  4. I know that some salads and other mixed foods can be saved but I also know from my homelss days many years ago that most of the fast food places throw out the burgers, chicken and other such main item foods--frequently wrapped.  (I used to dumpster dive.)

  5. im sure they do. my dad was telling me he worked at kfc (his first job) and they use the left over chicken for the gravy. ew!

  6. They have to put a 3 day expiere lable on it.In the 3 days they throw it out.Like salad fixins,I know in Pizza Hut the toppings have 3 days. After they have to toss it.The dough is made every day.

  7. nope. i work in fast food. and if something falls on floor. if something is made wrong, it is all go to the waste basket. that includes chicken that isnt fresh. meat that is dry or burnt. french fries that are cold. product not meeting temp. ect ect. and it is all accounted for and thrown all away!  even  the salads are thrown away. like someone else said, if you counted all the food that fast food throws away, it could feed a third war country! and more!

  8. YES

i heard that McDonalds keeps chicken nuggets out over night and then sells them the next day. i even know somebody who got food poisoning bc of this.

  9. Very unlikely.  I cannot speak for all brands but I know for a fact that McDonald's makes burgers to order to reduce waste, but if a sandwich sits more than 10 minutes it's thrown away.  There are strict time restrictions on all food products at MCD.

  10. Yes of course, 99% of restaurants do.  There is some stuff that has to be thrown away do to health regulations but everything else can be kept.  Cooked chicken nuggets and stuff like that has to be thrown away.

  11. No one of my first jobs was at Burger kING and they throw enough food away to feed a third world country.  They ask the employees if they would like it first and that which is not taken they throw away.  The grease they fry the french fries in is supposed to e changed nightly but I have seen them not do this.  That was the worse I had seen.  If something falls on the floor they throw that away also

  12. Yes, all restaurants do.  I've worked in them for the past 23 years, mostly full service ones and we all use leftovers.

  13. No.  I think fastfood restaurants are very very wasteful and, most of them throw things out into the garbage even when the items are not even old.

Instead of giving it away to the needy or selling it at reduced prices, they choose to dump it all into a garbage.

Its not like the food is 3 days or a couple of weeks old or something.

Its just items at the end of the day or left over food that they couldn't sell to the customers (i.e making too many nuggets in one batch and having some unsold to customers)
