Do you think fire fighting is a job or hobby?

I think it is a hobby but its pretty cool you can take a hobby into a job. I voulenter im almost 16 so im ready.

wat im asking is it a job or hobby?

It's a job.  Kudos on the volunteering, but you probably need to ask yourself that question in a few more years.  A hobby doesn't require you to risk your life.  You've got to have a certain passion inside that would enable you to lay down your life for a total stranger at a moments notice.  An inside voice that always drives you to want to help people.  You don't necessarily have to be a 'people person', but being able to get along with EVERYONE is key, ie, coworkers, citizens, etc.  You truly become part of a family once you become a firefighter ( or police officer).  Once you become a firefighter, you will be spending one third of your life with your fire family.  If you have that passion, it's a great job.  Lots of ongoing training, constantly making you a better person and firefighter.  And you get two days off, to pursue other interest or work part time (ie, cut grass, snow blow, roofer), or spend time with your family.  So it's sort of like every work day is a Friday.  

If you still think your willing to pursue it once you become old enough, best of luck to you.  Fire school and that rookie year will be h**l, but stay strong and once you make it out of that, you'll hopefully have a job that you truly love.

It's definitely a job not a hobby. Real firefighters do it for the love and concern for the safety of others. A hobby is supposed to be fun. Fighting a fire is anything but.

I think it can be both. Good for you for volunteering! We have a volunteer department here and they are the BEST!

fire fighting is a job, but they dont work often so you should get a side job. you can make more money.

the only reason i no this is because my father is a fire fighter.:)
