  1. No, they will continue to increase for many years.

Gas price increase is due to many reasons, 1) China and other such contries buy a lot of it; 2) The war in Irak and general political instability in this region; 3) Speculators.

After being about the same price for many years, crude oil barrel increased by about 15% per year since the beginning of the war in Irak in 2003. Since 2007, China and such countries buy a lot of gas which increase demand, making crude oil barrel increase by about 50% in one year. Since the beginning of 2008, the China still increased to buy more gas, and speculators started to play a dangerous game......

There are now 4 reasons why gas would decrease, or just stabilize:

    a) People buy less oil

    b) Speculators crash

The China and other such countries will probably buy more gas until:

    a) the gas is not too expensive for them

    b) China's economy growth is slowed due to Occident's economy problems.

In that two cases, gas prices will just "stabilize", not fall.

Peoples around the world can reduce its use of gas, but can't eliminate it completely. However, the less gas people will use, the slower will the gas price increase.

Problems in Irak and elsewhere in this area will not terminate shortly, and others new political problems in that area risk to make the gas increase faster.

A speculator crash can occur at anytime but when it will occur,  gas prices will just get down a little, but never as low as you would like.

The only thing that could make gas decrease a lot would be the discovery or invention on a interesting alternative to gas. You have the rights to dream.....

So I think that gas will continue to increase fast for the next 5 years, after what it will stabilize at a very high price, but will not decrease significantly.

  2. I would expect some sort of drop right before the election, if Bush drains the strategic petroleum reserves to make the current administration look better for the election.  This would be a temporary, bad-in-the-long-term move.

Prices of everything go up and down, but the trend for something in decreasing supply must be up, unless demand goes down.  So yes, I expect eventually in the far future gas prices will come down, but that will be because we have found something better.  I may not live to see it.  You might.

  3. no gas prices will still be going up people didn't think gas could go up to $4 but bam it did and then they didn't think it would get any higher but bam it did and now its $5

so its like gas prices increase a penny per day so thats why in 2009 if gas prices keep rising its going to be $7 so good luck buying your scooter ^_^

  4. the way the gas is going right now i guarantee that it will be increasing even more and there's no stopping to it right now

the way its going right now i will give it 3-5 years till it reaches about 10 dollars a gallon ! and I'm not over exaggerating

  5. Well I live in the state with the 2nd highest in the USA for gas prices, so I don't thinkk there's much hope as the entire cost of living has increased

  6. Well i was lisetenin to the radio and they said that they found this bug that, when mutated or something, it can exrete gas from itself (basically p**p it out) they said if they get enough and definitely do more research that gas will be under 2 dollars again in the next couple of years....

i dont believe that but that's what i heard :)

  7. no because natural gas will eventually run out

  8. i dont think they will decrease i think we are doomed. gas is polluting the air so its becoming more expensive to get it and the economy is falling apart. all prices are increasing. even milk costs up to $6 a gallon in some places. i know im broke right now can barely afford to live and gas prices are killing me. i dont think they will decrease but you never know. Maybe Obama will come up with a way to cut the prices in half (God willing). He will be our next President for sure... Hopefully he will do something about it. Our dumb Bush tore the US apart. He is probably the dumbest President the US has ever had.

  9. I dont think that gas prices will be coming down anytime soon. why, because the 3rd world country like Iraq produce alot of the supply of oil and because they so F**ing stuborn there making the US and CANADA pay alot for the supply making our prices go up so we can keep buying gas from those 3rd world countrys hioe that helps

  10. they already have slightly due to sadi arabia's increase in production

but they will NEVER be as low as they were BEFORE Retardo-Bush became president

  11. No they won't, since worldwide demand is on the rise and production is not keeping up. It will only drop when new sources of oil become available, such as oil from tar sands in Canada or oil shales in the US.

  12. No.  Once they get the buying public used to $4 a gallon, there won't be any business reason to back off of that price.

  13. yes after who ever wins the election they will go down for a short time, this is so we can feel that the president has done justice

  14. It will decrease when US and Iran will become friends and US stop spending money on Iraq and Israel.

  15. I dont think they will

Stop using credit cards, that is why the prices go up

  16. no

  17. They will decrease eventually... probably not any time soon, and probably not by a lot either. Maybe if we're lucky we'll get a national average of 3.50/gallon.
